As part of the Investment Banking & Capital Markets (IBCM) Analyst Program, you will be placed in one of our industry or product groups where you will work with alongside industry and product bankers to provide capital markets and advisory services to our Investment Bank clients.
The Analyst Program begins with a five-week, robust training program crafted to cover accounting, corporate finance, financial modeling, research and valuation techniques. The training program ensures that both those with Liberal Arts degrees and business degrees have the skills vital be a strong performer. You will continue to learn and develop through ongoing training throughout the program. Mentorship opportunities help you identify your strengths and plan your career, while social activities, community service and networking events connect you with people from across the firm.
Start date: July 2023
Academic requirements : You should be graduating from a university in December 2022 or May/June 2023.
Your field of responsibility
As a first-year Analyst, you will be a key contributor in the structuring and execution of capital raises, corporate finance and M&A transactions for domestic and foreign, and public and private entities. Additionally, you will support the Associates, VPs, Directors and Managing Directors you are staffed with in developing market analysis and providing strategic advice to companies looking to transact in the Capital Markets.
Your future colleagues
As part of our Capital Markets group, you will focus on one of three primary areas: Debt Capital Markets Solutions (DCMS), Equity Capital Markets Solutions (ECMS) and Leveraged Finance Capital Markets (LFCM).
DCMS is comprised of multiple capital markets businesses: Investment Grade Capital Markets, Liability Management, Derivatives and Strategic Solutions and Ratings Advisory. These groups provide clients with advice and solutions to meet their financing needs. They work closely with our IB and Sales & Trading teams to help complete transactions and offer guidance regarding valuation, market appetite and alternative offering structures to some of the world's largest and most innovative companies.
ECMS manages the origination and execution of all equity/equity-linked products globally. This includes IPOs, SPACs, follow-ons, block trades, convertible bonds, equity derivatives, and corporate share buybacks and accumulations. ECM teams in each region collaborate with coverage teams to serve corporates, financial sponsors, private banking clients, and governments considering equity and equity-linked transactions. ECM includes dedicated teams for pre-IPO private placements, Convertibles, and Corporate Equity Derivatives.
LFCM structures and syndicates transactions for global corporate and sponsor-backed issuers in the High Yield bond and Leveraged Loan markets. The team engages with banking partners in all aspects of deal execution, working across industries and transaction types, including leveraged buyouts, mergers & acquisitions, and recapitalizations. The group consistently drives market trends by delivering innovative solutions for clients, such as sustainability-linked instruments, cross-border financings, and other complex transaction structures.
