Key Accountabilities

Prepare and review various financial statements, journals, rate case schedules and budget forecasts. Plan, perform and lead new and/or complex audits and special projects

Coordinate, consolidate, report and prepare analysis of capital budget to aid management in decisions. Develop performance measures to assist management in business decisions

Participate in special projects and committee assignments as requested.

Effectively interface with support staff and other TXU personnel to ensure consistent work practices and reporting deadlines are achieved.

Provide cost benefit analysis of projects being considered by management.

Assist in monthly Accounting closing process by analyzing and adjusting accounting data. Review and approve month end accounting journals prepared by the mine accounting dept.

Review all external reporting of statistical information for the mine to ensure accuracy and consistent reporting.

Review all purchases for adherence to Capital versus O&M policy compliance.

Prepare reports in the most cost effective manner to communicate results of operations to site management on a monthly, quarterly and year ending basis

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 5-8 years related work experience.

Certification thorough knowledge of the functions of the accounting organizations such as Accounts Payable, General Accounting, Payroll, Budget, Tax, Plant and Construction Accounting.

Knowledge of the related accounting systems (PMMS, EIS, RAS, Contractor Accrual, General Ledger) and budgeting process.

Must be able to utilize knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, company policies and other information as they apply to the utility industry to provide relevant and reliable reports and information for management inside and outside the accounting organization.

General knowledge of the processes and functions of groups outside of the accounting organization such as engineering, maintenance and operations and their related systems such as PRISM.

Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, mainframe applications, and other office equipment.
