The Electrical CCR (Central Control Room) Operations Support Team is a 24/7 organization that has primary responsibility for the following activities of all electrical related equipment in support of a large semiconductor manufacturing facility:

\tMonitors/controls power distribution and capacity
\tPerforms alarm management and rationalization
\tManages the proper operation and incident response/recovery
\tEnsures configuration control of all electrical equipment and devices
\tControl Access to areas belonging to the Facilities Electrical Department
\tCommunicate important and relevant information
\tCCR Engineer: Continuous improvement projects, web development, and power monitoring management


This team utilizes eFMCS (electrical Facilities Monitoring & Control System) to perform the above functions and provide real-time information about the electrical power distribution as needed to all department and site personnel.

This is a full time position. Employees assigned to a Compressed Work Week (CWW) schedules, work a 12-hour shift, either three or four days per week depending on the shift rotation.

Shift A are days and always works Sun-Tues and alternates Wednesdays with shift C.


Role and Responsibilities



Specific Job Duties:

Employee will be tasked with two main duties: Operation and Engineering


Operation Duties

  • Monitor and manage day to day electrical equipment-related operation. Monitor the work of others in area of responsibilities to mitigate impact to equipment operation and eliminate potential safety, quality or production impact.

  • Able to work well in team environment, mentoring/training others, and effectively communicate throughout organization (engineers, technicians, management, customers).

  • Able to lead a small team of shift electricians to complete requisite patrol rounds, perform preventive maintenance activities, manage switching activities, etc.

  • Works independently on assignments and tasks, including but not limited to the development of continuous improvement projects that will improve the operation and monitoring of on-site equipment and systems.

  • Capable of obtaining expertise in CCR Console (eFMCS) Operations and executing work in accordance with established alarm management and rationalization principles, based on ISA 18.2, including but not limited to ensuring equipment being maintained or inoperable are properly tagged within the system to minimize nuisance alarms. In addition, the ability to perform critical analysis of alarm trends on shift and shift-over-shift in order to quickly escalate potential issues is required.

  • Continuously improves Business Continuity and Emergency Response Plans and executes training a drills for all personnel on their shift to ensure the knowledge and skills necessary to execute them are updated and practiced.

  • Initiates Business Continuity and Emergency Response Plans in accordance with implementing procedure immediately upon presence of entry conditions and manages the response to completion of recovery. Required to be thoroughly familiar with entry conditions and cautions for the emergency operating and business continuity procedures and the basis of each step in the procedures. Required to be familiar with the abnormal operating event procedures and system diagnostic and restoration procedures.

  • Effectively and promptly escalate incidents by various means of communications to the team including external customers, stakeholders, and as necessary, the Austin Energy Operations Center.

  • Gather tool impact from electrical incident with their preventative action plans for 8D report.

  • Capable of developing a full understanding of power distribution operation and root cause analysis for electrical equipment.

  • Basic understanding on Network architecture and components, how they fail, and how to react to network/communications loss.


Engineering

  • Continuous Improvement Projects such as

    • eFMCS SCADA logic improvement, alarm management improvements

    • database extraction and reporting to management using SQL

    • Develop or Update existing webpages

    • Working with development team for System Integration improvement

  • Power Monitoring Support

    • network equipment management

    • communication reliability improvement

    • network security management


Workdays & Hours: A shift ( Sun, Mon, Tues and every other Wed.)


Skills and Qualifications


Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum # Years Required:

  • 4 year degree in Computer Science or Engineering is required.

  • Certifications or training in any the following areas are a plus:

    • Alarm Management (ISA 18.2 or equal)

    • Emergency Response Management

    • Structured Problem Solving (Root Cause Analysis, 5-Whys, etc)

    • Web Development Training with JavaScript like React, Node.js, XHTML

    • Database language like SQL or ORACLE

    • Networking and Communications Protocols

    • Cyber Security (ISA/IEC 62443 or equal)

    • Human Factors (or Human Error) in Monitoring/Control

    • Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)

    • CPR/AED Certified



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools:

  • Strong understanding of electrical distribution system and single line diagram

  • Web development experience. Preferred XHTML, React, Node.js

  • Strong understanding of database SQL

  • Preferred to have some experience with Python and VBA

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis including Pivot Tables, data source linking through VLOOKUP, and simple script creation.

  • Ability to learn arc flash coordination using SKM software.

  • Semiconductor or high volume manufacturing experience preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills are required to effectively communicate technical content to various organizations.

  • Knowledge of basic record keeping techniques

  • Experience in creating SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)

  • Experience with Siemens, Honeywell SCADA system

  • Permanent right to work in US and ability to work overtime / on non-scheduled days as required
