We have an outstanding opportunity for two Graduate Research Assistants (RA) to support research projects at the Population Health Initiative. This position will take the lead in updating the visuals and layouts of a public facing website, one of our projects main deliverables.

Duties & responsibilities

   Work with the team to become familiar with key data sources used in models and analyses
   Update and revise our studys public-facing data dashboard
   Support the research team with writing or updating code to prepare and transform datasets from multiple data sources
   Create visualizations, tables, and figures to communicate study findings in reports

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT:
Fall Quarter 2022 (September 16, 2022 to December 15, 2022)

HOURS:
19.5 hours/week

REQUIREMENTS:
Registered UW Graduate Student (Fall quarter 2022) in good standing and eligible to hold a Graduate Student Assistantship.
Must be enrolled in a graduate degree program and meet enrollment requirements
Experience with creating R Shiny Apps and writing reproducible code in R
Proven interest in global health, population health, or data science to create public goods
Experience developing data visualizations
   Ability to work remotely and independently.

DESIRED:
   Knowledge of git/GitHub or similar version control tools
   Strong attention to detail and strong organization skills

TERMS:

CREDIT LOAD:
Must be formally enrolled in the UW Graduate School for at least 10 credits during Fall quarter 2022 and be in good standing.

SALARY:
Compensation and benefits are based on the 2022-23 salary schedules for a Schedule 1 pre-master research assistant.
