Guides team members to support the legal counsel in litigation research, discovery, and preparation of legal documents for various legal matters.

Job Responsibility

Performs discovery and prepares exhibits for various proceedings; collaborates with departments throughout the organization to obtain necessary information relevant to each case.
Serves as the liaison between the organization and outside counsel in litigation investigation, information management and/or physician employment agreements.
Researches case law, codes, decisions, legal articles and public records to determine causes of action and to prepare for various cases.
Prepares legal documents (i.e. affiliation and transfer agreements, petitions, order to show cause, physician employment agreements, etc.) for review by counsel.
Collaborates with in-house counsel to maintain current Medical Staff Bylaws for the hospitals.
Maintains departments law library, ensuring legal volumes and online resource access are current and up-to-date.
Develops and maintains departmental databases for tracking / monitoring information (i.e. labor and employment actions, vendor contracts, physician employment agreements, legal fees, file index, etc.).
Collaborates with Information Technology to resolve department software/system issues, as needed.

Job Qualification

Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
