Position Summary:

Attends and satisfactorily completes the University of Texas System Police Academy, qualifying for commissioning as a peace officer. Impacts fulfilling the academic, physical and practical requirements of the basic training school of the University of Texas System Police Academy.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Participates in physical training program, firearms training, defensive tactics program and practical problem solving. Complies with assignments, policies and instructions given by the Director, Police or any member of the academy staff. Adheres to rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Regents of the University of Texas System. Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Valid Class A, B or C Texas driver's license.

Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by the Police Department.

Must be a U.S. Citizen per the Texas Administrative Code - 37 T.A.C. 217.1 (B)(17).

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

None

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
