We are looking for a talented Corporate Trademark Counsel to join our team specializing in Corporate Legal Business. This role is in Indianapolis, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Administer the delivery of legal services in the trademark and copyright practice areas.

Provide guidance to legal staff, manage outside counsel, implement strategies, policies, and procedures necessary to maintain and oversee Cummins international trademark and copyright portfolio and prosecutes and defends trademark and copyright related claims and cases.

Provide legal counsel in support of the acquisition, clearance, adoption, use, licensing, and enforcement of trademarks and other related intellectual property.

Develop and execute Cummins global counterfeit enforcement strategy.

Work with attorneys, paralegals, investigators, and other team members to identify and pursue counterfeiters and other bad actors around the world.

Actively assume a leadership role to actively support Legal Department initiatives.

Seek continuous improvement opportunities within scope of responsibility.

Track legal trends and makes recommendations for continuous improvement.

Prepares, negotiates, and interprets brand and marketing licenses, and other similar transactions.

Prepare and implement policies and practices in response to trademark and copyright legal and regulatory requirements.

Prepare and deliver training regarding trademark and copyright legal and regulatory requirements.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Degree in law
License to practice law in home jurisdiction
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations

Experience

Significant relevant experience (6 plus years) required.

The ability to work well in a team environment.

Strong organization, planning and research skills.

Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic and fast paced work environment.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
