Our design team works closely with product managers, researchers, and engineers to conceptualize, design, and build high quality services across a variety of devices. We believe in constant improvement and validation by following best practices for product design. Our process of ConceptBuildTest enables us to quickly and effectively refine new concepts using real data and user insights. Using this process, weve contributed to successful products in the market such as Samsung Free, Samsung Health, and Samsung TV Plus.

Position Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity for an interaction designer to work on new Samsung services that will launch globally in 2022. We are forming a design team to conceptualize and cross platform entertainment services that will instantly reach millions of users. The interaction designer will coordinate with design team members to deliver intuitive, innovative, high performing user experiences for Samsung devices. Reporting to the design lead, this designer will own certain features and components within individual services. To accomplish this goal, the designer will work directly with product managers, researchers, and engineers to translate business and user needs into real product solutions. As a designer, this role requires a wholistic view of the product while at the same time performing hands-on tasks like detailed UX documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Propose and own key features/components of the product experience for mobile entertainment
Work with leads on mid-large scale projects from new concept development to product execution
Communicate the user experience through all stages of the design process by creating wireframes, user flows, basic prototypes, presentations, and detailed design specifications
Partner and coordinate with junior to senior level interaction, motion, and visual designers as well as prototypers to conceptualize and build Samsung services
Work with design lead and product managers to transform strategic direction and product requirements into high quality design output from total systems to individual elements
Work with UX researchers to design and observe user studies, then translate user needs and research findings into usable design improvements
Advocate for design centered solutions using strong rationale based on data, market trends, and user research
Contribute to high level concepts and executive reviews but also pitch in on detail level design work

Qualifications

Masters or Bachelors degree in design, HCI, or related field
3 - 5 years of demonstrable experience working as an interaction designer within a consumer electronics or technology company
Solid design experience working across different screens and devices.
Fluent in common design software (Sketch, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote) for the creation of interaction design artifacts and presentations
Strong product design experience from concept to execution
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work within technical constraints as they apply to designing for both TV and mobile devices
Great time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
A team player who can work with cross-functional team members and facilitate collaboration
Ability to make design decisions and recommendations based on professional experience, user insights, and analytics
