Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Architectural Senior Manager to be based in our Virginia Beach, VA office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and help lead and mentor a great group of people.
The Architectural Senior Manager will be responsible for the following items:
Provide architectural design on select, complex project assignments
Supports, oversees and coordinates architecture activities for an operating unit.
Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative.
Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues. At this level, the individual will have demonstrated understanding of project delivery requirements, creativity, foresight, working with a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and deliver high quality technical excellence.
Will work on a number of projects simultaneously in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment
Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual operations problems, determining operational objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse architectural activities.
Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

Minimum Requirements
BA/BS degree in Architecture or equivalent degree plus Ten (10) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.
Architectural design experience in a consulting capacity, including experience working on Federal/DOD projects
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
Preferred Qualifications
LEED certification and project experience is a strong asset
Thorough knowledge of building systems and construction detailing
Strong, hands-on technical knowledge, document review, consultant coordination and experience in field review and contract administration
Demonstrated strong creativity in design
Demonstrated successful experience in organizational and people management
Experience in staff scheduling and assignment of technical tasks in a consulting firm
Experience in project and financial management in a consulting environment
Exceptional technical knowledge of building construction and the Building Code
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
Ability to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations
Desire to be mentored by leadership and provide mentorship to junior staff
Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills
Experience in Autodesk Revit, BIM 360, SketchUp
Experience with Bluebeam, Navisworks and Dynamo
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and other post process and presentation graphic software
Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
State Department OBO, Justice & Public Safety, and Local Municipal experience
