* Lead Data Scientist, Analytics Center of Excellence * * Role Summary: * Cox Communications is looking for a Lead Data Scientist who will be a core member of the Data Science team. This role will be responsible for advanced analytics solutions design and implementations in a hands-on capacity. The Lead Data Scientist is required to be a proven advanced analytics expert to drive solution development and delivery at scale. * Responsibilities: * * Provide hands-on technical leadership in advanced analytics efforts to produce value from Cox Communications unstructured and structured data assets utilizing methodologies from ML (machine learning), DP (deep learning), AI (artificial intelligence), and NLP (natural language processing) * Mentor other data scientists and perform as a hands-on data scientist to design, implement, test, prototype, and deploy ML, DP, AI, and NLP applications * Identify opportunities for automation, knowledge discovery, decision-making, insights, optimization, and new capabilities * Develop frameworks and best practices for transitioning analytics solutions at different maturity levels between data science, operational, and stakeholder teams * Prepare documentation, reports, and presentations that explain advanced analytics concepts, technology, and inner workings of solutions to broader teams including non-technical audiences * Evaluate new technologies, tools, and data * Provide guidance to keep the team up-to-date on new technologies, standards and practices * Qualifications * * Minimum: * * 5+ years of experience in advanced analytics role in ML, AI, NLP, research, predictive analytics or similar area with a MS degree in relevant field. 2+ Years experience + Ph.D, or 11+ years experience if candidate does not possess an advanced degree (MS/PHD). * Strong programming skills and ability to utilize a variety of data/analytic software/languages/tools; e.g., Spark (ML, Mllib, Spark SQL), R (caret, ggplot2), Python (pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn), Scala, Java, C++, Hive, SQL, SAS, Tableau, etc. * Deep expertise in at least one of the machine learning and deep learning frameworks including TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe, MXNet, Spark. Experience with writing complex programs and implementing custom algorithms in these and/or other environments * Deep knowledge of the mathematical and computational concepts behind advanced analytics algorithms * Experience working with leading cloud vendors such as Google, Microsoft, or Amazon. Experience using cloud computing to build analytics applications and enterprise level AI/ML solutions * Strong communication skills. The ability to successfully comprehend and communicate advanced analytics artifacts, business insights, and resulting implications to non-technical business partners.
