**What You Will Achieve**



The Developer - Data Science and Analytics will utilize knowledge of analytics and informatics to support R&D laboratories and clinical testing for vaccines, as part of the Research Informatics Team. This individual will be expected to contribute to technical tasks, but in addition, they will be expected to lead many portions of projects independently and design many aspects of the project's solution(s).



This individual will be expected to assist in leading end-user support of external partners from time to time. The Developer will primarily take direction from the departmental manager but will collaborate closely with other senior and junior team members.



**How You Will Achieve It**



+ Data wrangling and statistical programming in SAS will be the central focus.

+ The individual will use prior system administrative experience along with programming and statistical experience in order to provide agile development - receiving/translating business requirements, converting them to functional solutions, verifying the solutions, and deploying them for use.

+ The individual will be responsible for analytical problem solving that will drive the technical aspect of projects.

+ Follow GxP regulations (an understanding of Quality processes and their relationship to software administration, documentation, and programming is necessary).

+ Will need to both meet tight deadlines and juggle several projects, and will participate in process improvements

+ The Research Informatics team has a hybrid model where a majority of the work will occur on site with some remote/VPN work allowed.



**Qualifications**



**Must-Have**



+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or Mathematics and 1-3 years of relevant experience, Master's Degree in 0-1 years of relevant experience.

+ Strong analytical skills

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

+ A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and of computer programming languages

+ Thorough knowledge of various programming languages and/or algorithms.

+ Proven programming skills in multiple languages (SAS, SQL, and R are desirable), experience with other languages such as Python, PERL, LabWare LIMS Basic, C++, and Java will be considered

+ Strong Interpersonal Skills.

+ Relational database concepts and direct experience with querying relational databases.

+ Organizational and time management capability; ability to juggle many tasks

+ Ability to develop ETL processes and advanced data wrangling skills

+ Experience with regulated documentation and with writing test scripts.

+ The individual will have strong communication/writing skills, will have the ability to both take direction and work independently.

+ The individual will have a strong passion for innovation and all the activities that are associated



**Nice-to-Have**



+ Working knowledge of laboratory information management systems.

+ Experience performing biological assays.

+ Experience using source management tools (e.g. GitHub)

+ Other programming languages: python, Perl, UNIX Shell scripts

+ Experience with UNIX environment (permissions, mount points, piping, and various UNIX commands)



**PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS**



Lifting, sitting, standing, bending, ability to perform mathematical calculations and complex data analysis.



Work Location Assignment:majority of the work will occur on site with some remote/VPN work allowed
