Boeing Defense, Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for an Electronic System Design & Analysis Senior Engineer (Level 4) to support the Proximity Sensing System Team in St. Louis, MO. This candidate will be part of an engineering team working on a new airplane program.


**Position Responsibilities:**


+ Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements for the program.

+ Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications.

+ Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

+ Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

+ Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

+ Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs.


**This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.**


**Export Control:**


**The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.**


**Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):**


+ Currently possess a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

+ Working knowledge and experience developing/applying aviation related system safety analysis methods such as System Safety Risk Assessments, Fault-tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA) and Safety Assessment Report (SAR)


**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):**


+ Experienced with commercial airplane certification and/or FAA certification processes

+ Experience managing requirements with DOORS

+ Experience with airplane communications standards (e.g. ARINC 429, Mil Std 1553), IP Networking, and protocols (e.g. Transport Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Secure Transport Protocol (SCP), Extensible Mark-up Language (XML), Wireless Access Protocol (WAP)

+ Classroom or work related programming experience with any of the following software development languages: Ada, C, C++, C#, JAVA, and Python

+ Experience developing low-level device driver software per aircraft interface standards (such as MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC 429, UART, CAN, ARINC 664, RS-485)

+ Knowledge of computing equipment and its operating systems (e.g., Windows, Unix, Linux).

+ Knowledge of software development and testing tools (e.g., editors, compilers, linkers, desktop simulations, configuration management tools, requirements management tools) capability and usage.

+ Ability to integrate hardware and software components into a functional system.

+ Knowledge of software testing and usability theory.

+ Knowledge of testing, usability practices.

+ Ability to write and execute test scripts.


**Typical Education:**


Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.

Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7

years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
