Team/Overview:
Global FX and LCT Trading provides clients with market-making services in foreign exchange (FX) spot,
swaps, forwards and options in G10 and emerging market currency pairs, local currency bonds and interest rate derivatives. The Global FX and LCT FX Trading line of business (LOB) is divided into eight discrete trading desks with trading operation in seventeen countries.
The AMRS GFX Business Control and Finance team in New York supports the AMRS FX trading desks. This business serves our corporate, financial, and individual investor customers by offering a wide variety of foreign exchange products. The successful candidate will oversee team of 7 associates in New York and oversight of offshore team of 6 associates located in India. As this is a Director level role, the candidate will interact across the different departments globally and regionally to execute on the Finance objectives, whilst maintaining an understanding of financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
+ The is a leadership role in which the successful candidate will need to build strong relationships and serve as key contact with Sales & Trading, Market Risk, Compliance, Regulatory Relations, Technology, and Operations teams.
+ Substantiate the official daily P&L explain. Provide oversight of trader T0 flashes and estimate to official T+1 P&L variances as business unit level
+ Provide oversight monthly/quarterly close process.
+ Preparation monthly & quarterly revenue commentary to senior management and regulators
+ Review and challenge Balance Sheet account movements, stale balances, counterintuitive balances, control accounts, and suspense accounts.
+ Extensive knowledge in valuation control functions including Independent Price verification, Valuation Adjustments, Leveling & Disclosures, and validation of appropriate model/methodology.
+ Subject matter expert on more complex structured transactions and the operational risks around the end to end product lifecycle (Overhedges, approximately booked trades, illiquid positions, etc).
+ Provide oversight on Forecast/CCAR/Recover Planning.
+ Provide oversight and guidance on regulatory requirements pertained to our LOB / products (Volcker, RegW, Inter-affiliate transactions, cross-entity, remote trade booking, VaR backtesting).
+ Challenge new product reviews, methodology changes, and new trading strategies.
+ Continuously assess and enhance processes, and identifying new approaches to improve efficiencies.
+ Various strategic initiative participation and engagement
+ Production and analysis of monthly Valuation Adjustments and Independent Pricing
+ Leads talent management and development.
Required Skills:
+ BS/BA Degree required (Finance, Accounting preferred).
+ 8-10 years of professional/demonstrated work experience within financial services industry. Global Markets and derivatives experience required.
+ Experience managing people.
+ Proven record of indirectly managing people by influence.
+ Comfortable interacting with Senior Management and Finance teams throughout the organization
+ Understand the risk, ledger, reporting systems and controls.
+ Understand FX market and the market drivers of the product and inherent risks.
+ Technical skills in valuations for FX products.
+ Accounting knowledge and experience is a must with strong financial products knowledge.
+ Experience with financial valuation theory, methodologies and applications for FX products.
+ Experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection, financial modeling, and analysis (hard/soft IPV, analytically reviewed, untested, valuation uncertainty range, Fair Value Hierarchy, Disclosures)
+ Control focused, analytical, team oriented, comfortable with complex products
+ Excellent organizational, communication, critical thinking, and relationship management skill
