TG ES Ops EPP Database Administration Job Description

The Enterprise Support Operations Enabling Platform and Processes Team is responsible for the enablement and management of infrastructure technologies supporting new products and services. The team collaborates closely with Enterprise Support Infrastructure Engineering and Enterprise Platforms and Capabilities teams to deliver infrastructure capabilities, products, provisioning, and deployment of infrastructure components. The team provide support and is responsible for the monitoring and the responses to incidents.

Administration and support of the following platforms or products in these areas:

Database Support: Oracle Version 12C, 19C and Exadata, Microsoft SQL 2012-2019, AWS RDS, MySQL

This specific position is focused on Database Support and Administration. Responsibilities include:

• Manages and maintains all production and non-production databases.

• Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration.

• Performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models, defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements.

• optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.

• Migration of database instances from outdated database environments to new supported environments (TechDebt Elimination).

• Strong working experience in Windows and Linux environments

Requirements:

• Expert level Database administration experiences with Oracle (Version 12c, 19c, and Exadata) and Microsoft SQL Server 2012-2019 are required.

• Expert level Database administration experiences with SQLServer Partition and SQL Profiler.

• Knowledge with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages to perform data migration tasks.

• Experienced in SQLServer maintenance, tuning, performance, upgrades, disaster recovery planning and implementation

• Expert level Database administration experiences with AWS RDS.

• Experienced with AWS Postgres Support.

• Experienced in dynamic scripting.

• Experienced with Actifico Enterprise Cloud Backup.

• Hands-on experiences with database administration and product support of applications platforms and solutions described above.

• Continually monitor and fine tune application infrastructure to assure optimal performance, availability, and utilization of resources.

• Design and develop scripts to automate operational tasks and maintenance.

• Deploys the release of new database related technologies as well as designs, installs, configures, maintains, and performs system integration testing of database instances, server operating systems, related utilities, and hardware.

• Responsible for trouble shooting database and server problems as reported by users.

• Working experience with Middleware administration experience (WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, etc)

• Strong working experience in Windows and Linux environments

• Familiarity of Application programming languages and Web technologies

• Experience with Change Management standards - Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Hands-on experiences with database administration and product support of platforms and solutions described above.

• Provide technical solutions to automate processes or functions to improve business operations.

• Develop corresponding operations and support procedures and documentation for application operations.

• Researches, evaluates, and recommends database products.

• Administer and enforce IT standards and processes.

• Provide off-hours support rotational weekly call schedule with 7x24 responsibilities.

• Provide support during scheduled contingency tests
