Senior Network Engineer Job Description

Senior technical role as part of team of Network Engineers supporting our global Network Services function. This position requires strong communication and technical skills. You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure and management application components for the global enterprise environment. Perform a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets established service levels as well as design and security best practice. Provide direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interface with the Global Network Services Team in the US and Manila.

  • Configuring and Managing Cisco Viptela SD-WAN environment

  • Thorough understanding of network services, (i.e., high-availability, DNS/DHCP, IPAM, NTP,SNMP), Network Security, IP Routing, ipsec/SSL VPN, NAT, LAN/WAN technologies

  • Configure and maintain different Cisco Devices, PaloAlto Next Generation Firewall and Threat Management Appliances, Cisco IPSEC VPN technologies, F5 Application Load Balancers (VIPs, certificates, irules, virtual partitioning), AWS environments, Websense Proxy services,

  • Design, configure, and maintain complex datacenter enterprise switching environments

  • Design, configure, and maintain complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice applications

  • Assist in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, Ether-Channel, LACP, vPC, layer2 trunking.

  • Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware and software to resolve operational issues and restore services. Interpret diagnostic output and leverage packet captures for analysis.

  • Maintain network security through proper configuration of VPN, Firewalls, Routing, and Switching

  • Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors and etc. to provide technical assistance and support

Requirements:

  • Experience providing subject matter expert (SME) role with Cisco routing and switching

  • Experience in designing and supporting Cisco Viptela SDWAN highly preferred.

  • Experience with AWS network infrastructure related components (Transit Gateway, Cisco CSR, PaloAlto, vpc, elastic IPs, ELB).

  • Excellent communication skills, both written (documentation / diagrams) and verbally

  • Technical, analytical and interpersonal skills required

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a dynamic business environment

  • Minimum 7 years™ experience with installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintaining multi-VRF Enterprise Cisco environments, and interoperability with other vendor platforms

  • Experience mentoring and sharing knowledge with other team members

  • Minimum 2-3 years data center facility experience is highly preferred

  • Must be available for 24/7 on-call rotation

Desired skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent professional experience

  • Certifications Cisco CCNP, Cisco CCIE or relevant vendor certifications.

  • Familiar with VMWare, Windows, and Linux

  • Knowledge of VoIP implementation and support

  • Knowledge of PCI-DSS, SOX, GDPR is a plus
