H2M Architects + Engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm seeks a senior project manager to work out of our Melville, office.
As a Project Manager at H2M, you will be responsible for working with the lead Architect(s) to oversee, plan, manage and track the progress of multiple projects. We're looking for an enthusiastic go-getter who is just as comfortable managing the work as they are interfacing with clients and helping us build our business. Job Responsibilities:
Plan, Initiate, Monitor and coordinate Single and Multi-disciplinary Architectural projects, including planning the project's definition, schedule, timeline and budget in coordination with the Lead Architect.
Develop project initiation process by managing project scope, determining action items, assigning ownership, creating project timetables, and tracking execution and workflow; prepares, presents, and distributes project status reports.
Coordinate with other technical divisions within the firm (and external), and subcontractors/advisors.
Ability to take direction from multiple people and effectively communicate across all disciplines.
Stay up to date on projects assigned by attending all project related meetings and preparing weekly staffing forecasts and requirements related to their assigned projects.
Coordinates billing information with the Accounting Department and reviews all invoices prior to mailing.
Manage financial aspects, including ensuring all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget, demonstrating commitment and financial ownership of the overall project(s).
Oversees and ensures project profitability making the Lead Architect aware of the project budget at significant milestones and is conscientious of scope "creep"
Make recommendations to the Lead Architect for any adjustment in fees, prepares, and distributes all Contract Amendments, receiving authorization from Client(s) prior to executing the work.
Keeps the Lead Architect up to date on all relative issues and schedules associated with the project.
Coordinate with accounting and QA/QC teams to resolve problems, track progress and communicate results.
Work with Discipline Director and H2M Core to improve performance on future projects.
Develop PM specific SOPs as necessary to drive consistency of project delivery.
Ensure project deadlines are met, processes are documented, and lessons learned shared and prioritized with extreme attention to financial detail and quality.
Document, Manage and mitigate risks when it concerns your project(s).
Promote and demonstrate the highest levels of professional conduct, ethical responsibility and H2M's core Mission, Vision, and Values.
Education and Qualifications:
Strong understanding of critical path method project management.
Excellent Verbal, written and graphic communications skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
Competent in Primavera or similar project scheduling tools.
Strong experience in enterprise level software for project cost tracking and control.
Understands earned value and percent complete financial reporting on projects.
Excels at organization, time-management problem-solving, and budgeting.
Strong interpersonal and client management skills are essential.
PMP or PSMJ project management certification required.
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field.
Excellent computer and written communication skills required.
