Description

SAIC is looking for a Software Test Engineer position that will support the testing and deployment of new software applications, support software maintenance activities. Experience of CM and Agile process are highly desired. Also, Test automation experience is a plus. The work location is at Client site in Rockville, MD.  But, the position will telework most of the time. However, the candidate should live in Washington Metro area to be able to come in to work place as needed.
Responsibilities Include:

• Develop and document test plans and test cases for features based on requirements and customer expectations, section 508, regression, acceptance, and smoke testing

• Execute tests of web and mobile applications, and give feedback on failures and defects to the development team

• Gather requirements and support user acceptance testing during the development process

• Document the test plans in Confluence and failures, defects, and improvements in JIRA

• Troubleshoot production issues, and verify enhancements and bug fixes necessary to meet the needs of the Customer

• Work well individually and/or part of a team 

• Telework or work on customer site as needed 

Qualifications

Education required:

• BS degree -  preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

 
Required Experience

• 3+ years of software testing experience of web applications

• Experience testing web-based Java and PHP web applications and frameworks such as Spring, Strut, React and Drupal

• Experience in Section 508 Compliance and Web Accessibility testing

• Knowledgeable on using relational database management systems and scripting languages such as SQL

• Experience testing software following the Agile development methodology such as Scrum

• Knowledgeable in programing and scripting with Java, J2EE, PHP, and JavaScript

• Certification in ASTQB or ISTQB (Any testing certifications) is a Plus

• Exposure to test automation is a plus  - experience with Selenium is preferable but experience of any other tool is acceptable 

• Experience or knowledge in AWS, AWS RDS, Drupal, PHP Ability to function in an Agile team and work within the SCRUM framework is a plus

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and dependable with the ability to learn quickly

• Experience in configuration management and Atlassian Tools administration is a plus

• Experience working on-site in a government facility a plus

• Experience with direct client interactions

• Ability to get Public Trust clearance
