The Trade Sales and Client Management - SVP role is a client-facing role within Citis Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS)/Trade organization. Trade is a growing part of the TTS business of Citi and involves a variety of solutions including: (i) Receivables Finance (accounts receivables purchase and AR sales financing); (ii) Documentary Services (letters of credit, collections and reimbursement; bills of exchange; transits or structured LCs); (iii) Trade and Working Capital Loans, and (iv) Working Capital Finance (including supplier finance, distributor finance).


This role owns a client portfolio covering North American entities in the commodity industry and the energy industry, and will be interfacing with clients daily to discuss their business needs. Part of a global team which actively coordinates, this role works with colleagues in other regions to ensure consistent offerings and service to these clients, and thus offers the opportunity for international exposure and learning. These industries are transforming and Citis strategy is to partner closely with clients as they evolve their business models.


Active interface with clients is required to understand a clients business objectives, share Citis knowledge on industry and solution trends, and identify opportunities to support clients with new facilities, or to enhance existing facilities and maximize utilization. This role will interface with Citi product owners on specific client needs, and will seize the opportunity to develop detailed solution knowledge in order to better frame opportunities to clients and translate such needs to Citi partners.


Responsibilities:


+ Originate new Trade working capital facilities across all of Citis offered solutions

+ Own and manage the Trade aspect of strategic client relationships end to end including origination, agreement negotiation, approval processes implementation and on-going utilization

+ Partner with functional experts such as Legal and Operations to anticipate implementation challenges

+ Interested in the commodity and the energy industry and their transformations and growth, in order to identify opportunities to support clients business objectives

+ Able to think across solution feedback from various clients and develop product themes which can form the basis of innovation or product functionality improvements

+ Manages activities that require some forward looking vision and analysis and typically thinks beyond the existing solutions, assumptions or current knowledge

+ Able to manage clients across a large/complex country, cluster of countries, or globally which requires coordination and integration with other Trade colleagues

+ Acts as mentor to new and less experienced colleagues

+ Ability to apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency


Qualifications:


+ Bachelors/University degree, Masters degree preferred

+ 8+ years of related experience

+ Experience with Trade products and solutions, especially documentary services and accounts receivables, would be helpful

+ Working knowledge of the commodity industry and the energy industry would be helpful

+ Ability to think analytically and frame credit / risk issues

+ Interested in closely following latest trends in relevant industry segments

+ Applies ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution for complicated and/or unique situations

+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

+ Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels

+ Extremely high level of attention to detail

+ Excellent organization skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize within tight deadlines

+ Ability to work as part of a team
