The Data Product Owner for North America Small Commercial oversees the strategy and roadmap for the data products, associated with the data products for internal or external consumers. They are responsible for understanding, managing and owning data product consumers needs across the division and prioritizing enhancements. They measure and communicate the business value of data products to senior stakeholders and evangelize the use of data products with development teams and the data community. This role will steer the data products to the initiatives of the respected line of business. This position must bring a good balance between technical and soft skills as well as a strong understanding of data and data management. This role will help the business drive data decisions for Small Commercial. This role will collaborate with different company departments and the management to ensure the adequate data management steps are taken.
Collaborate with technology leaders, and business leaders, to implement strategic data management techniques to treat data products as an asset. Based on their potential to be reused to the data community.
Develop strong relationships with all data product consumers and other data citizens that use the data to understand their needs.
Develop and curate a roadmap for the data products, using input from consumers and Senior Leaders. to plan enhancements and improvements.
Define and measure meaningful business key performance indicators for the data products.
Communicate and cultivate the business value of the data products to relevant stakeholders, including business and technology leaders.
Collect data against defined metrics and use metrics to determine opportunities to improve the business value of the data products.
Cultivate the data community to increase understanding and values of the different Data Products.
Evangelize the use of the data products with development teams to increase the adoption and consumption of the product capabilities.
Ensure consumers have the information and resources they need to use the data products, such as access to the data, interactive documentation to help them understand data operations, etc.
Be the evangelist of the data product, owning all aspects of the data lifecycle including Q/A, data retention measures, impact analysis of sources, and other key pieces of information.
Develop, maintain and socialize the data product specifications and documentation.
Ensure alignment and adherence to corporate, financial and technology standards (e.g., architecture, compliance, security).
Where applicable identify opportunities to monetize data products, with limited business exposure.
Accountable for defining and driving the strategy as well as day to day execution in collaboration with technical and non-technical teams for one or more products.
Justify improvements to existing data products in a value-focused manner
Defines what to solve by articulating the value of problems to be solved, along with priorities and justification for each part of the solution from both a technical and business perspective.
Gathers, manages, and prioritizes product requirements that detail user problems and needs, technical constraints and strategic objectives.
Describes what to solve by writing the specifications (problem statements and requirements) and facilitates the how with the data engineering teams.
Planning, designing and conducting activities, and compiling critical content for training and communication for our data citizens.
Improve processes to streamline and automate data flows.
Make informed decisions about the data products based on inputs from stakeholders and engineering leads inputs.
Define, groom the product backlog and create actionable user stories for the development teams
Accept the completed user stories to make sure the work fulfills the criteria.
Develops positioning and communication messages for the data product and influences training and other change related activities.

Education:
B.Sc. or higher in computer sciences or an equivalent field
Qualifications:
Minimum 10+ years working with customers to define requirements, preferably analytics products
5+ years articulating and building tooling to support the development of data analytics products. Prior experience with data analytics or data science capabilities.
Has worked with IDMC, APIs, Cloud-based data analytics or machine learning platform.
Has used data catalog, metadata management and data security products.
Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle, including developing and maintaining detailed project plans from discovery to delivery
Identify and define business problems, and translate them into actionable requirements and tasks

Effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders and users
