KPMG is currently seeking an Advisory Intern for our Securitization practice in Deal Advisory & Strategy.
Responsibilities:
+ Help develop and model complex financial structures
+ Assist with preparation of client deliverables and working papers supporting findings for financial risk management and audit engagements related to financial instrument valuations and cash flow analysis of fixed income, structured products, technical accounting applications and whole loan portfolios
+ Stay up-to-date on the typical structured debt instruments and research federal and international income tax issues related to debt instruments, stated interest rate, original issue discount, premium, market discount and tax principles impacting asset backed securitization (ABS) and mortgage backed securities (MBS)
+ Work on engagements related to agency multifamily backed securities, commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS), collateralized loan obligations (CLO), collateralized debt obligation (CDO), mortgage backed securities (MBS), asset-backed securities (ABS)
+ Support compliance testing related to client agreements with investment banks, issuers, regulators, government agencies and investors
+ Help generate U.S. federal income tax forms and statements for ABS and MBS and for offshore issuers and assist with project planning, development of deliverables and other technical writing exercises
Qualifications:
+ Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors; Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, MIS, Data Analytics, or Business-Related major from an accredited college or university
+ Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.00 or above
+ Knowledge of loan documentation and visual basic for applications (VBA) preferred
+ Ability to document and present tax issues and financial analysis
+ Strong technical aptitude, demonstrated quality service mindset, critical thinking skills, data management skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications (including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
+ Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player and resourceful in delivering high quality work
+ Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
+ Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
