Position Summary
Samsung Electronics is driving innovation in the media landscape through its proprietary Samsung Ads platform, which leverages unique first-party data to help marketers reach audiences across desktop, mobile, and TV. The Samsung Ads platform delivers high-quality audience targeting powered by three key components: first-party audience data at scale, world-class data science, and brand-safe cross-device ad inventory.
The Ads BD practice of the Services Partnership Group is responsible for all partnerships related to the Samsung Ads platform and is looking for a Business Development Director to help lead our inventory supply acquisition efforts. This role will be responsible for ensuring that the Samsung Ads business has the competitive and differentiated inventory supply needed to continue to fuel growth across all demand channels. This position will drive partnership negotiations across various publisher categories, including with application partners providing inventory share within their services across the Samsung device footprint, with content partners on Samsung O&O services like TV Plus, and with premium publishers looking for demand solutions. This requires deep cross-functional collaboration, including with the Ads business team to scope and understand supply needs; with the Ecosystem Distribution teams to support app distribution discussions and negotiations around inventory-related terms; with the Content Licensing team to support deal frameworks around partner channels; and with the Product team to drive roadmap for publisher-facing solutions. This role will be responsible for managing the Inventory Supply and Publisher Partnerships team across deal-making, publisher on-boarding/trouble-shooting, and yield management. The Business Development Director will also be expected to have a well thought-out point-of-view on industry trends and market opportunities for the business.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in digital advertising, with a strong understanding of ad technology, data, measurement, and the publisher ecosystem, as well as existing relationships across the publisher ecosystem. Experience in OTT / CTV is a plus. The position will require maniacal attention-to-detail, a passion for solving problems, the ability to unravel complexity, and commitment to executing against plan. Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must, as well as the ability to drive close collaboration with all areas of the business. The Business Development Director will need to be comfortable working under pressure and tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of and experience in complex contract language negotiation will be critical to success in this position.
