**ROLE SUMMARY**
Reporting to the Vaccines Commercial Strategy & Innovation (CSI) Lead, this individual is responsible for developing and maintaining the overall Vaccines portfolio end-to-end strategy, inclusive of both internal development programs and external business development strategy & opportunities.
Core responsibilities of this role will include:
+ Development of overall Vaccines portfolio strategy with holistic focus on near-term (1-3 year), mid-term (3-5 year), and long-term (5-10 year) time horizons
+ Proactive monitoring of the scientific & competitive landscape to identify emerging infectious disease trends and potential Vaccine development opportunities
+ Development & continuous updates of Vaccine product concepts that can be used to guide strategy & Business Development efforts
+ Initial commercial analysis of potential vaccine target areas
+ Cross-functional leadership to prioritize & align on Vaccine targets for development initiation
+ Leadership of Vaccines Business Development strategy (with proper integration into the overall Vaccines strategy) & external opportunity analysis
This role will be the Vaccines CSI point of contact for all Business Development opportunities providing guidance and expertise on strategy, commercial opportunity, market development, and valuations.
This role will partner closely with multiple cross-functional groups including, but not limited to, the Vaccines Research Unit (VRU), Global Medical Development & Scientific/Clinical Affairs (MSDSCA), Vaccines Clinical Development, Patient & Health Impact (PHI), Business Analytics & Insights (BAI), Regulatory, Competitive Intelligence (CI), and Business Development.
**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Lead cross-functional team including VRU, BAI, Medical Affairs, CI and PHI in developing future landscapes for key disease areas as well as the identification of key trends that can inform the refinement of the long-term Vaccines commercial strategy.
+ Collaborate with the Vaccines CSI Lead, Medical Development & Scientific/Clinical Affairs (MSDSCA), and Vaccines Research Unit (VRU) colleagues on refinements and adjustments to the long-term strategy including conducting quantitative and qualitative market research to justify adjustments.
+ Lead cross-functional efforts to develop robust product concepts that can be used to guide both the internal development strategy and external Business Development processes. Periodically update the product concepts and seek endorsement from Vaccines Tetrad as appropriate.
+ Act as Vaccines CSI point-of-contact for BD deals, offering expertise on launch strategies and asset valuations. Represent CSI in discussions with external parties as part of the BD process.
+ Provide commercial insights to Business Development assessments and proactively identifies business development opportunities to maximize the long-term value of Pfizer's vaccines portfolio
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**
+ 15+ years of commercial development, marketing, market research, strategy, or forecasting experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotechnology companies.
+ BA/BS required.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Advanced degree strongly preferred
+ Strong analytical skills required
+ Business development experience preferred
+ Commercial development experience highly preferred
+ Demonstrated ability to develop long-term strategies for products / disease states and receive endorsement from senior leadership
+ Demonstrated ability to quickly understand scientific data and identify commercial implications across a broad range of disease states
+ Comfortable making decisions and recommendations with limited information highly preferred
+ Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams
