GFTs Global Risk & Finance Data Engineering Manager will lead, drive, and manage programs/projects, including the technical teams aligned to drive the establishment and maintenance of the Risk and Finance Data Platform. This includes front to back execution/orchestration of project delivery within the overall Data Transformation agenda. The role should further focus on improving data accuracy & completeness across the GFT solutions as well as driving adoption of the future state strategic data platforms across our functional areas, along with enhancing tooling and standards. These solutions enable Citi to comply with regulatory mandates and empower businesses to achieve goals, both current and long-term. Our products and initiatives adhere to Citis strategic architecture and support the end-to-end integration of multiple global functions within the bank including Finance, Risk, and Controls.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated, self-starter mid-senior level Data Engineering Lead with a passion for data and with the ability to drive multiple run the bank and change the bank projects on our Big Data and VLDB Platforms. This role requires 10+ years of hands-on experience. This individual apart from managing teams should be able to technically get involved in the day-to-day work and contribute technically as and when needed. Experience working in the financial industry within the Institutional business would be a plus. This is a hands-on development role that will offer exposure to the full development cycle, whilst working closely with our business and technology stakeholders.
As a key member of the data engineering team, you will:
Manage the workload of the team(s) and the scrum process to align it with the objectives and priorities of the product owners
Manage one or more application development teams to accomplish established goals as well as conduct personnel duties for the team
Work closely with data architects, data engineers, full stack developers, product managers, cross-functional partners, and the larger technology organization to get high-quality products and new features built, tested, and released on time for Data Technology
Own and manage application and development tech stack and underlying infrastructure components and collaborate with vulnerability management team to proactively remediation of infra/app vulnerabilities
Evaluate new IT developments and evolving business requirements and recommend appropriate systems alternatives to Risk and Finance Data Platform by analyzing business processes and industry standards
Actively get involved in the design and development of Big Data solutions partnering with domain experts, product managers, analyst, and data scientists to develop Risk and Finance Data Platform infrastructure
Identify and manage risks, making sound judgments about quality, and speed of deliverables and deployment to production
Be a key player in our Data transformation to digitize our business
Requirements/Qualifications
15 plus years of data engineering experience
Three plus years of team management experience
Data Engineering & Analytical development background with skills such as SQL and No SQL etc
Thorough understanding of ETL/ELT, Data Ingestion Frameworks, Data Marts, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence and Analytics development practices
Working experience or conceptual knowledge in various developer skillsets including Ab-lnitio, SQL, Big Data (Cloudera), Spark, Scala, J2EE, Core Java, FullStack, Python, UI/UX, DevOps, Oracle, Snowflake, Netezza, Collibra, Tableau, MicroStrategy, SAS, Arcadia, AWS
Agile SAFE Methodology Certified with Developer/Engineering Background
Worked as DevOps Engineer and created CI/CD pipelines from scratch
Technical development background with cloud experience AWS/GCP tech stack or others
Ability to work effectively across functions, disciplines, and levels
Team-oriented and collaborative approach with a demonstrated aptitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn new methods, tools, practices, and skills
Ability to recognize discordant views and take part in constructive dialogue to resolve them
Track record of interfacing with and presenting results to senior management
Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills
