Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a GIS Specialist to be based in our Phoenix, AZ or Tucson, AZ offices. This position will work on-site at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma in Yuma Arizona.

This position is expected to begin in August/September 2022.

Job Overview:

The GIS Specialist will support our EHS team within our Environment business line. This position will work on-site at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma in Yuma Arizona.

The position will provide on-site geospatial data management, analysis, and visualization services to the MCAS Yuma Real Property Accountability Officer (RPAO) to assist with providing accurate, timely, and complete real property data.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support geospatial data management, visualization, analysis, and editing tasks in support of the RPAO.

  • Maintain a digital GIS Program Binder detailing the processes and actions involved in completing assigned duties.

  • Assist in the annual review of asset evaluations, the creation/disposal of real property records, and real property inventory data collection, validation, maintenance and data integrity.

  • Assist with preparing/reviewing all draft, interim, and final Transfer and Acceptance of Military Real Property forms.

  • Work with subject matter experts in multiple organizations to discuss the timely transfer of real property data across different organizations.

  • Defines optimum workflows for managing geospatial and real property data, and designs, implements, and tests workflows to assist with verifying 100% existence and compliance of assets annually.

  • Review technical requirements to meet objectives and perform quality assurance on a variety of geospatial content/services.

  • Perform field data collection using a variety of GPS, GNSS, and related technology.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science or related field, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Valid U.S. Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and/or ArcGIS Portal

  • Relevant experience in a similar GIS multidisciplinary project support role

  • Adaptable team member, happy to work autonomously in dynamic work environments

  • Excellent understanding of the ESRI suite of products

  • Technical knowledge of geographic concepts, including coordinate systems, data collection methods, spatial data management, analysis, data visualization and cartographic design

  • Strong technical ability, with excellent problem-solving skills

  • Ability to provide innovative solutions to problems applying sound spatial analysis and data management practices

Additional Information:

  • Relocation is not available for this position

  • Candidates will be asked to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record screening upon hire.

  • The candidate will need to be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance after hire
