SAIC is seeking an Illustrator II to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.
Note: This is a hybrid remote position with periodic travel.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Crane, IN office has need of illustration support to demonstrate strong conceptual problem solving skills and translate customer requirements into visually engaging, innovative solutions.
JOB DUTIES:
Developing illustrations and graphics.
Creating original 2D artwork.
Working with and exporting line drawings from 3D models for use in graphics.
Shooting photography in studio and on location.
Editing photography in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
Creating and manipulating illustrations, graphics, charts, diagrams, etc. to be included in technical documentation in adherence to government specifications.
Coordinating, scheduling, and managing multimedia requirements.
Attending validation/verification and other review events.
Conducting quality assurance checks on team members’ artwork.
Creating storyboards and presentations that depict customer’s vision.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
HS/ GED in a related discipline and 3+ years of related experience using current technologies. Additional experience in lieu of degree.
Proficient in the Creative Suite Master Collection (i.e., Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, and Lightroom).
Experience with Solidworks or similar 3D modeling package but would accept 2D experience in lieu of 3D modeling experience.
Possess proficiency in traditional illustration techniques including but not limited to perspective, composition, layout and the importance of line weight.
Possess proficiency in multiple illustration styles and techniques.
Possess practical knowledge of 3D modeling programs and how to extract line drawings from a 3D package to be used in 2D Illustrations and graphics.
Possess practical knowledge of photography characteristics, compressions, conversion techniques, file formats, and display devices.
Possess practical knowledge of photo composition principles and techniques such as framing, lighting, optics, and perspectives.
Experience in studio, field, and live photography shoots using high-definition camera equipment.
Experience with creating and manipulating vector graphics.
Experience in storyboarding and presentations/briefs.
Proficient on PC.
Candidate must be a US Citizen.
Candidate must be able to obtain a Full DOD Secret Security Clearance. SAIC will sponsor qualified candidates for the clearance requirement.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience with DOD industry.
Experience with MIL-STDs.
Experience with Microsoft products to include: Project, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Outlook.
Target salary range: $25,001 - $50,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
