**THE ROLE**
The Market President is responsible for state and regional sales and growth strategies of Providence Health Plans (PHP) and has operational responsibility for Health Plan retail offices. These responsibilities include sales, producer services and leadership activities pertaining to PHP's consumer segments (Individual and Medicare) and Specialty business (Dental and Vision). The Market President will represent PHP with external audiences, including producers and consultants, as well as employers. The Market President has direct accountability for relationships with the producer and consulting channels, business leaders, community leaders and organizations, and provider organizations.
The Market President will lead the Sales and Account Services teams for their respective market(s), as well as collaborate closely with the Executive Leadership Team at PHP and various sales leaders and caregivers.
The Market President works closely with Finance, Informatics, Marketing, Network Development, Product, and Underwriting with a focus on membership growth and strong financial performance to meet targets for revenue and Net Operating Income.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Building and leading outstanding Sales teams, focusing on new sales and retention for the Individual, Medicare and Specialty market segments in all geographies.
+ Building and leading outstanding Consumer and Specialty sales and account Services teams, focusing on new business and retention that meet financial targets.
+ Developing and maintaining strong producer and consultant relationships and partnerships.
+ Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the business community and other civic organizations.
+ Developing and providing market vision, direction, and strategic recommendations to drive and support growth by line of business and market including, but not limited to, provider network, clinical programs, product, claims, and customer service.
+ Developing go-to-market plans.
+ Provides ongoing competitive intelligence, including products, rates, strategies and other relevant competitor product/service activities.
+ Developing a sales pipeline process.
+ Implementing an effective and accurate enrollment projection process.
+ Refining sales and group service performance standards.
+ Building a positive team sales environment in a highly competitive environment.
+ Actively collaborates with regulator, compliance and government affairs on strategies for state regulatory and legislative opportunities.
+ Actively collaborates with, and provides strategic guidance to, finance, actuarial and underwriting for all segment pricing and budget development.
+ Serving as the primary representative of PHP with multiple constituencies, including (but not limited to) producers, employers, business leaders, community leaders and organizations, and providers.
+ Exploration and guidance on market partnerships that support the overall goals of the market and Providence Health Plan.
+ Works closely with leadership at Providence St. Joseph Health, Providence Medical Group and Population Health to identify and execute on opportunities to optimize the enterprise presence in the market.
+ Available to support opportunities for Providence Health Plan across all markets and services, as appropriate.
**IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS**
Required experience/education for this position include:
+ 10 years of Health insurance experience
+ 7 years of Leadership, managerial, operations experience
+ Strong consumer focused knowledge knowing how to focus on members to create experiences and products tied to our Promise
+ Deep health plan operations experience
+ Solid working knowledge of strategic planning, execution of strategy, budgeting, business development and sales
+ Demonstrated solid leadership qualities and organizational skills
+ Ability to generate trust and respect from staff, internal and external constituencies
+ Ability to work effectively with individuals at varying levels of the organization with a demonstrated ability to create, build, and maintain relationships
+ Superior communication skills - listening, written, and verbal
+ Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task and to deliver results within short timeframes
+ Exceptional health plan operations understanding and skills
+ Deep knowledge of the health insurance market and health plan operating models to support growth
Preferred experience/education for this position include:
+ Bachelors and Masters Degree
