This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.
Responsible for leveraging cutting edge technology to solve business problems at American Airlines by participating in all phases of the development process from inception through transition completion, advocating the agile process, leveraging cloud technologies and test-driven development, using object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct and test reusable objects, and making the codebase better.
Collaborates with product stakeholders and team members, both technical and non-technical, to understand requirements and develop solutions according to business requirements
Designs and implements user interactions on web pages
Designs and implements cloud-based back-end services and APIs
Ensures responsiveness and maintains the security of applications.
Integrates UI code with backend services through API
Troubleshoots and debugs complex issues
Supports the development of coding standards and adheres to best practices and security guidelines
Works closely with software architects and technical leads to ensure decisions contribute to long-term enterprise strategies
Improves the delivery process to optimize delivery of value and frequency of deployments while maintaining or improving product quality
Automates and optimizes testing and cloud-based deployment processes
Creates simple, meaningful documentation and release notes
Follows Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery and DevOps best practices
Proactively participates in pair programming and code reviews / pull requests
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
5 years of application development experience
5 years of SQL Database Development
5 years of experience defining user requirements
5 years of .Net (C#) Programming experience

Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Demonstrated experience in the following:
.NET, XML, HTML, JavaScript
Frontend frameworks: React/Angular/Blazor
Developing and interacting with APIs and microservices preferred.
Web Services, such as REST/SOAP, JSON/WSDL/XML
Visual Studio
Oracle & SQL Server
Entity Relationship Design experience – able to understand and work with data normalization concepts.
Object Oriented Analysis, Design Patterns, and Frameworks
Experience with DevOps Toolchain methodologies, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment
Experience with Agile project management methodology
Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
Possess a keen desire to learn and expand depth of knowledge
Ability to analyze complex problems and implement solutions and/or workarounds
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)
Experience supporting 2/7 critical application
Support production critical issues occasionally (5% to 10%) during non-standard business hours.
