Job Summary




The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, supporting, developing and designing systems and networks devices throughout company. This will ensure the integrity of high availability, secure network infrastructure and provide maximum performance to users. He/She will partner with Global IT as an expert to staff for the management and deployment of all operating systems, software and endpoint provisioning. The Sr. Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems.




Essential Functions




  • Serve as part of a 2-3 person shift of systems and network engineers responsible for deployment, maintenance and monitoring of all corporate systems



  • Collaborate with Information Security colleagues to ensure design principles and implementation practices are well aligned with security objectives and larger strategy



  • Establish strong relationships with key technology stakeholders and facilitate, communicate and collaborate with others in the definition, adoption and implementation of technologies as an SME



  • Design, implement and support the corporate Microsoft Active Directory and hybrid Exchange environments to include cloud-based Office 365



  • Partner with Global IT as an expert to staff for the management and deployment of all operating systems, software and endpoint provisioning



  • Deployment/troubleshooting of Phones (desk, mobiles, Cisco Wireless Devices, Conference), troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults. Supporting audio visual systems and services including video conferencing, Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems, and applications. Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.




Education




  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) inComputer Science, with 5 years of systems engineering experience -Required



  • Associate Degreewith 7 years of advanced system engineering experience -Preferred



  • High School or GEDwith 9 years of advanced system engineering experience -Preferred




Work Experience




  • 5 years or morein a systems engineering role -Required




Skills and Abilities




  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize service requests with minimal supervision, excellent organizational skills, a teamwork approach and the ability to act independently to solve problems -Advanced



  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, resiliency in the face of continual change, and ability to handle high demands -Advanced



  • Strong understanding of public cloud operation in both Azure and AWS -Advanced



  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, group policy configuration and OS hardening techniques -Advanced



  • Strong understanding of Microsoft or other multi-factor authentication, SSO and identity management product -Advanced



  • Experience supporting multi-time zone corporate computing environments is required -Intermediate



  • Good oral and written English communication skills, strong interpersonal skills -Intermediate



  • Must have experience with Vmware Virtual servers, Active Directory, Office365, Azure Cloud services / SSO, Cisco Networking hardware and a solid understanding of infrastructure -Advanced



  • Experience with Cisco UCS and Audio/Video Conferencing capabilities -Intermediate



  • Experience with network performance and infrastructure monitoring systems -Intermediate



  • Power Shell scripting a must -Intermediate



  • Experience of service level management -Intermediate



  • Competency with internet, mobile technologies, cloud and ITaaS Solutions -Advanced



  • Organizational skills to be able to manage a personal workload and prioritize activities -Intermediate



  • Interpersonal skills required to interact successfully with end users and third parties as well as fellow team members -Intermediate



  • Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment -Intermediate



  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to gain respect of end users and third parties -Intermediate

Specialized Knowledge




  • Serve as part of a 2-3 person shift of systems and network engineers responsible for deployment, maintenance and monitoring of all corporate systems



  • Automate workflows to streamline systems management operations using cloud based tools and code



  • Partner with Global IT as an expert to staff for the management and deployment of all operating systems, software and endpoint provisioning



  • Collaborate with Information Security colleagues to ensure design principles and implementation practices are well aligned with security objectives and larger strategy



  • Assist with the development, documentation and implementation of standard operating procedures



  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks



  • Evaluate existing or emerging technologies to consider factors such as cost, security, compatibility and usability



  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots problems with the virtualization environment including Microsoft and Linux O/S



  • Establish strong relationships with key technology stakeholders and facilitate, communicate and collaborate with others in the definition, adoption and implementation of technologies as an SME



  • Deployment/troubleshooting of Phones (desk, mobiles, Cisco Wireless Devices, Conference), troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults



  • Supporting audio visual systems and services including video conferencing



  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications



  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks



  • Design, implement and support the corporate Microsoft Active Directory and hybrid Exchange environments to include cloud-based Office 365



  • Talking to staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues

Licenses and Certifications




  • Microsoft, VMware, Azure or AWS certification a plus - Preferred
