TTS Canada P&R In-Business Risk and Control Manager

The Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) Business Risk Officer is a business, product and risk specialist who proactively supports the assigned products in managing both inherent and residual risks and executing related control responsibilities as a First Line of Defense function. This is a strategic role with broad responsibility to work with multiple stakeholders including TTS product managers, In-Business Risk partners, Regulatory and Control teams, TTS Partner teams (Operations and Technology, Onboarding, Sales, Innovation) and second line partners (Independent Risk, Legal, Finance, Compliance, Operational Risk Management). The incumbent will be responsible for day-to-day management for governance, oversight and ensuring appropriate business, operations and risk management practices are in place with an end-to-end business perspective. This encompasses all process, procedures, applications, and systems across all stakeholders involved in the delivery of products and solutions for TTS Canada Payments and Receivables (P&R) product line. The individual will work collaboratively with stakeholders for this end-to-end perspective and management. Key stakeholders include Canada and US client delivery, operations, technology, finance, credit risk, product risk, legal, compliance, product, sales, and account management .


**Responsibilities:**


+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

+ Manage multiple business relationships to ensure compliance to Citi policies and regulatory requirements. Take a forward-looking approach by maintaining industry and marketplace knowledge and provide input and guidance/influence where appropriate, internally and on relevant external committees, groups, etc.

+ Work with compliance, product risk and other groups to review and assess upcoming/proposed changes and the impact they may have on P&R. Work with the respective teams for execution of requirements.

+ Work collaboratively with P&R product managers and other stakeholders to implement policies, standards, and procedures for the management of risk, including compliance risk in accordance with the Governance Policy requirements, day to day management for governance, oversight and ensuring appropriate business, operations and risk management practices are in place with an end-to-end business perspective, with transparency and consistency across all teams. Ensure managers maintain up to date process, procedures, and flow documentation with an end-to end- perspective

+ Coordinate and support the Business in the implementation of global, regional, and local regulatory, risk and control projects. Manage, project lead, and complete ongoing control activities and related regulatory projects through interaction with Product, Compliance, Technology and Operational participants, as appropriate, to the project(s)

+ Management and oversight control of P&R external and affiliate vendor agreement documents, working with Product, Client Delivery, Operations, Technology, Finance, Legal and Compliance to ensure completeness of documentation, robustness, metrics and acceptability/appropriateness of expenses associated with the agreements, including metrics and dashboard reporting as appropriate.

+ Analyze inherent risk stripes across products lifecycle, assess/establish applicable preventive and detective controls to drive residual risk within TTS Risk Appetite with emphasis on the P&R product requirements

+ Coordinate Product Assessment performed by all lines of defense. Establish comprehensive calendar of all Target and Horizontal regulatory exams, internal and external audits impacting P&R products. Establish exam management evidence and response wrapper discipline. Partner with Internal Audit to identify areas for future audits

+ Establish proactive self-assessment management discipline. Examine procedures for consistency and gaps relative to regulations in addition to impacts on customer experience. Monitor exceptions to policy and identify drivers of exceptions

+ Provide an effective Manager Control Assessment (MCA) framework and oversight governance to support P&R. Work with respective P&R product managers to ensure testing, audit trail documentation, attestations etc. are appropriate and sufficient. Assess as part of the MCA Annual Risk Assessment (ARA) process the significant inherent compliance risks for applicable products and activities. Assess as part of the MCA Quarterly Risk Assessment (QRA) process the residual risk considering the significant inherent risk and effectiveness of key controls, informed by MCA monitoring results and additional management reporting

+ Assist product managers in creation of P&R issues and correction action plans (CAPs) in iCAPS as needed. Drive issue identification and remediation including Matters Requiring Attention (MRAs) impacting assigned P&R products. Track issue, CAP and MRA status and progress and proactively escalate as appropriate to the Country and Regional IBC Heads, TTS Product Head and Global Partners (escalation as per procedures and key focus areas of the firm such as past due items, items at risk of missed target dates). Validate completed CAPs in the iCAPs system prior to validation by other control and assessment functions such as Internal Audit and ORM.

+ Assess control drivers and work with Product Managers to lead the monthly Product Risk forum. Manage risk-based reporting across assigned products to capture and escalate to governance forums in a timely manner. Leverage data to examine impacts to Customer Experience (Both Internal and External) and Regulatory breaks

+ Provide support for the implementation of process enhancements, control improvements, and best practices resulting from engagement with the Global In-Business Risk team and networking with peers

+ Drive improvement in Regulatory and Audit scorecard metrics

+ Works closely with business partners on audit findings and make recommendations on improving practices.


**Qualifications:**


+ 6-10 years relevant work experience in Business Risk & Controls

+ MS Excel, MS Access, SAS, SQL, Visual Basic a plus. 5+ years experience in financial services.

+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

+ Effective organizational influencing skills required.

+ Third party vendor management preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead global team efforts

+ Excellent problem solving skills Ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details

+ Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.


**Education:**


+ Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
