Account Manager
Intertek is looking for an Account Manager to join our Softlines team in our client location in Massachusetts. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Product Integrity.
The Account Manager is responsible t o provide QA Testing, Inspection and Technical support to Retailer, by ensuring that day-to-day client requests, problems, issues and complaints are handled efficiently and professionally. Provide program administration and effective communication between Retailer and the Intertek Global Network at the site of the Retailer. Candidate requires textile product integrity experience.
To provide Testing, Safety, Chemical Management/Sustainability, Quality, expertise to Retailer. Ensure client requests and issues are addressed and managed efficiently and professionally. Provide program administration and communication between Client, client's agents, direct vendors and Intertek Global Network. Assist in reviewing, determining and communicating test report non-compliances for commercial acceptability. Provide technical support to resolve quality issues.
What you'll do:
Responsible for effective communication and follow through between Client's agents, direct vendor and Intertek. Providing testing guidance and fielding questions and inquiries.
Keep current on all regulatory, safety, and quality performance requirements and communicate relevant information to Client.
Provide expertise and assure product claims are tested and validated to align with Client's marketing plan; compression, breathability, eco-friendly, specific fiber attributes etc.
Ensure laboratories are performing testing in accordance with client specified test methods and test protocols, including turn time requirements and test reporting procedures.
Continually monitor lab turn times for test and inspection, proactively addressing any concerns.
Compile monthly tracking reports; turnaround, dollar volume, etc as agreed between Intertek and Client.
Coordinate global correlation programs between Client and Intertek laboratories. Responsible for developing a CAP for issue resolution on correlation issues.
Assist Client managers in developing and updating specifications, requirements and procedures for new and existing products for testing
Assist Client on projects and assignments, such as DataLink systems updates, test report trend analysis, failure ratios assessments etc
Assist Client on creating and presenting technical presentations. Assist in the training of client's employees, as applicable.
Review testing documentation and provide assessment of acceptability or make recommendation(s) for improvement. Communicate with client's agent office and liaison with Corporate Product Integrity. Provides technical assistance to assist and resolving technical issues.
Archive, file and maintain test documentation in accordance to client's policies.
Assist with sample testing. Prepare and send sample for testing and perform some physical laboratory testing as it relates to projects, correlation and/or training.
What it takes to be successful in this role:
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Candidate requires textile product integrity experience
Extensive knowledge of textile testing and testing requirements
Extensive knowledge of Federal, State, Prop 65 regulations
Strong ability to analyze and interpret test results and test data
Highly organized, ability to prioritize, sense of urgency, and attention to details is required
Excellent professional skills; written, oral and presentation
Ability to work productively independently
Ability to build relationships with business, vendor, agent partners; must be able to manage conflicts
Associate degree in textiles or related field or above
Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft skills
Proficiency in both written and spoken English
Minimum educational level: a recognized degree in Textiles and Clothing/Material Science/ Chemistry/Engineering or a related discipline
Experience required: 2 or more years of relevant work experience
