The Applications Development Senior Analyst is an intermediate level position within the Institutional Clients Technology (ICG-IT) team and will support the Wholesale Credit Risk initiatives. The individual will work with the Risk business managers and internal technology colleagues and assist in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs. The individual will also be responsible for analyzing complex data in the systems and ensuring that data of expected quality are available to Risk business managers for accurate reporting.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas.
+ Consults with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards; recommends solutions.
+ Mines and analyzes data from various banking platforms to drive optimization and improve data quality.
+ Impacts the business directly by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams.
+ Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment; identifies and communicates risks and impacts.
+ Drives communication between business leaders and IT; exhibits sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information.
+ Leads system change process from requirements through implementation; provides user and operational support of application to business users
+ Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex projects through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry standards.
+ Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
+ Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
+ Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
+ Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
+ Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
+ Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
+ Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
+ Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
+ Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
**Qualifications:**
+ 5-8 years of relevant experience
+ Experience in systems analysis and complex data analysis
+ Intermediate to advanced SQL skills querying relational databases. Experience querying multiple data sources and large data sets.
+ Advanced Excel skills, strong experience using Power Query.
+ Extensive experience working in Waterfall and Agile project methodologies; using JIRA. Experience with all phases of Software Development Life Cycle.
+ Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
+ Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
**Basic Requirements**
+ 8-10 years Business and/or Data analysis experience using tools and techniques for modeling of large data sets. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of business and data analysis
+ BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field or a degree in Finance with strong technical skills
+ Intermediate to advanced SQL skills querying relational databases. Experience querying multiple data sources and large data sets.
+ Advanced Excel skills, strong experience using Power Query.
+ Extensive experience working in Waterfall and Agile project methodologies; using JIRA. Experience with all phases of Software Development Life Cycle.
+ Experience with process and data modelling (UML) and knowledge of ETL
+ Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and analyze large sets of complex data, draw meaningful conclusions, and make recommendations based on analysis.
+ Ability to be metrics / data driven and have a bias for action and result delivery
+ 3+ years of experience in Finance, Risk and Regulatory Reporting. Strong knowledge of credit risk, market risk concepts
+ Knowledge of reporting tools like: Cognos, Tableau, Power BI is preferred.
