Required License/Registration/Certification None Job Summary The University of Kentucky is currently seeking applications for an Assistant Professor, regular title series, 12-month appointment period, in the Department of Health Management and Policy. Department faculty maintain a robust teaching agenda in the college’s academic programs, which include the Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Health Administration (MHA), the Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology and Biostatistics (PhD), the Doctor of Philosophy in Health Services Research (PhD), and a college-wide Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) degree. The anticipated start date is early 2023.
The primary responsibilities of this position are aligned with the College and University missions of research, teaching, and service. The successful candidate will contribute to a growing faculty research capacity in health services research and health policy, submit research proposals to secure extramural funding support for their research, publish research findings, and prepare for a position of national leadership in the field. Teaching responsibilities will include core and/or elective courses in the College of Public Health MPH, BPH, PhD in Health Services Research, and/or MHA degree programs. The service component will include disseminating, translating and applying scientific knowledge for use by academic, clinical, administrative, and policy decision-makers in Kentucky and beyond, and for use by the patients and populations affected by these decisions. The anticipated distribution of effort is Research/Scholarly Activity 65%; Teaching 30%; Service/Professional Development 5%. Faculty distribution of effort is negotiated annually with the department chair and adjusted as needed.Faculty are eligible for a generous benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance.
