This position is part of the Data Science & Analytics chapter responsible for providing Data Science and Machine Learning Engineering expertise and solution delivery across Chevron. The function of this role is to partner with the business to identify opportunities to apply data science approaches and create data science products that deliver business value. The successful candidate that fills this position will have the skills to identify, prototype, and build data science products.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
+ Identify and frame opportunities to apply advanced analytics, modeling, and related technologies to data in order to help Chevron businesses gain insight and improve decision making, workflow, and automation. Understand value of proposed opportunity.
+ Identify data necessary and appropriate technology to solve business challenges identified.
+ Clean data, develop models, and test models.
+ Establish the life cycle management process for models.
+ Work with team lead on engaging business regularly to share teams accomplishments and to identify additional opportunities.
+ Provide technical mentoring in modeling and analytics technologies, the specifics of the modeling process, and general consulting skills.
+ Participates in the end-to-end product development lifecycle as a member of agile team
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor or masters degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, Business or other Sciences degree required.
+ Must be currently enrolled in a four-year college or university and classified as a senior or graduate student with anticipation of receiving a Bachelor or Masters Degree OR college graduates with less than two years experience since receiving their degrees.
+ Must provide a current, unofficial transcript with online resume (as proof of good academic standing) when applying for this position to be considered.
+ Demonstrated depth in advanced analytics / data science technologies (e.g., machine learning, operations research, statistics, data mining); experience implementing advanced analytics projects ; working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and tools in its ecosystem.
+ Proficient in Python programming
+ Experience in implementing machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g. ML Flow, Kubeflow, Tensorflow. Keras scikit-learn, PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy, etc.)
+ Experience in SQL; data visualization and insights communication; experience in using tools such as Power BI and packages in Python
+ Ability to engage business and technical experts at all organizational levels and assess opportunities to apply data science analytics to improve their workflows and deliver information and insight to support business decisions.
+ Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and understandable manner both orally and in writing. Listens carefully and asks questions to understand the views, concerns, and comments of others.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Awareness of current and emerging trends in data science and artificial intelligence
+ School, work experiences or exposure in linear programming optimization, deep learning, or computer vision is a plus.
+ Works independently, enjoys self-learning and displays creative thinking
