Our Consumer Quality Engineering team seeks an Associate Director who is passionate about bringing industry standard quality engineering best practices and cross organizational collaboration to our company. The ideal candidate will possess technical and leadership skills to define the tools, process, and plan for the Community of Practice in this quality engineering discipline. This individual will direct a team in partnership across CTP to deliver on the cohesive strategy set forth.
**About the Job**
The Consumer Quality Engineering Associate Director of Technology will be the supervising manager for the Quality Engineering Community of Practice. This role is responsible to direct and lead all the process and tooling transformations within the quality engineering area. The individual will partner with key stakeholders within (and outside) of CTP to drive the precise quality and efficiency gains needed in this area. The ability to interact with executive level leadership and create corresponding professional presentations is a must. With an expert understanding of each software testing type, this leader must drive the absolute most modern methods to bring the transformative changes needed.
Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View
Develop and manage Quality Engineering best practices, process, and metrics to deliver an efficient and effective set of testing services.
Inclusive of the following:
+ Definition of Done
+ DRE and performance benchmarks
+ Automation and regression test catalog management
+ Defect management tracking and categorization
+ Assess, Support and Manage the most effective set of tools for Quality Engineering testing.
Inclusive of the following:
+ Training programs and documentation
+ Implementation programs and roadmaps
+ Tool environments and supplier management
+ Value and impact assessment Engage with testing teams to collaborate, identify gaps, and align improvements within an ongoing progressive plan to advance the community of practice as the technology options change and process efficiency areas are identified.
+ Proven ability to interact with Dir, AVP, VP levels and above in an organized clear professional manner.
+ Excellent presentation and written documentation skills are a must.
Education:
+ Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or 10 plus years in a Quality Engineering or Software Engineering role.
Required skills to apply:
+ Strong project planning with the ability to drive decision making, set implementation schedules that align with running the businesss day to day operations.
+ Organized approach with strong communication skills and ability to shape information across multiple levels of leadership (everyone knows where you are headed, where you have been, and why)
+ Engineering depth to ask the right questions, challenge the status quo and identify gaps in the tools and process, that need to be addressed.
Desired Experience:
+ 10+ years in technology leadership roles within the telecommunications/mobility industry
+ A proven track record of leading quality engineering functions and having delivered software products with high quality
+ Experience managing large geographically diverse teams comprising of employees, vendor partners, and contractors
+ Experience in current technologies/practices including SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, micro-services, APIs, DevOps/CI/CD, and application architecture design
+ Experience in operational leadership of application and/or infrastructure technology and a track-record for best-in-class quality and continuous improvement
+ Proven ability to develop and sustain a high performing team with a culture of innovation and excellence
+ Extensive experience working with external solution providers, system integrators, technology partners and vendors
+ Experience in adoption/use of an agile methodology and the transition from or co-existence with traditional SDLC methods and tools.
