Prudential International Insurance (PII) currently has a career opportunity for an individual interested in the position of Associate Manager focusing on the accounting and reporting within the Japan Regional Finance team. The Japan Regional Finance team is responsible for the financial reporting of PIIs Japanese operations. The successful candidate will be part of a team that is focused on Japan business (Gibraltar Life and Prudential of Japan) financial reporting duties and will have the opportunity to expand his/her skill set in a broad array of accounting and financial reporting areas and will also learn about the Japanese insurance market and products. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for numerous deliverables related to the financial reporting of the Life Planner Profit Center within the PII segment. This position requires significant interaction with local finance teams, PII Finance teams, Corporate Controllers, ECOPM, Actuarial, and Tax, as well as our internal and external auditors.
Responsibilities:
Prepare the Balance Sheet, Equity, and Income Statement for Japan business.
Support the consolidation of PIIs Quarterly Results Review Package.
Assist with external financial disclosures, including the review of required supplemental GAAP disclosures, including but not limited to cash flow statements, for Japan business.
Provide accounting guidance and general support to the local finance teams.
Participate in special projects to support the ongoing efforts to improve and enhance the financial reporting processes and support new financial reporting initiatives.
Assist with ad-hoc requests from senior management and business partners.
Support Japan operations for the implementation of Targeted Improvement.
Perform detailed expense analysis to be provided to senior management, working closely with ECOPM/ICAPM team and local expense management teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance
3-5 years of financial reporting experience
CPA/CFA/CGMA designation or candidate is a plus
General knowledge of USGAAP accounting and reporting
Strong familiarity with the Prudential accounting systems (Oracle, Obero, GAAP Supplemental System, PFAP, etc.) is a plus
Effective communication skills
Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work independently and as a team member
Overtime required during peak reporting periods
*Note: Prudential is required by Colorado law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Colorado resident.
Salary range specific to Colorado: $87,500-118,300 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
