The Strategy & Communications organization provides critical market, competitor and business insights to Top Level Executives using analytics, ensures cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic initiatives forward. Our team stays focused on aligning company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, and utilizes data to inform strategy and decision making across the Consumer Electronics Division.

As the Strategy Manager, the successful candidate will play a critical role in leading cross-business initiatives, performing data analysis, provide business & strategic advice to Executive management, and oversee business planning, project management and strategy development impacting the Consumer Electronics Division in Samsung Electronics America (SEA).


Role and Responsibilities


Lead Strategy Development:

  • Development of short-term and mid-term organizational strategy working with key stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain and Marketing within Samsung

  • Conduct Scenario Analysis: Assess the industry & competitive marketplace to identify market opportunities and risks. Develop models & contingency plans for possibilities based upon both known and anticipated actions by competitors and the overall market. Recommend workable actions based on comprehensive review of data for competitors, Samsung, and the industry


Perform Strategic Analyses:

  • Analyze data, build models, test hypotheses, find root causes, develop prototypes, forecast performance, create Tableau reports, and write SQL scripts; and extract insights from these data activities to inform business decisions.

  • Utilize your financial analysis skills to assess and make recommendations that drive profitable business decisions.

  • Use descriptive (what happened) and diagnostic (why did it happen) analytics to develop specific, actionable recommendations for business leaders.

  • Define metrics that are independent, holistic, accurate, encourage the right behaviors, and are aligned with company strategy and objectives.

  • Map business processes to their corresponding data flows.

  • Data analytics financial, macroeconomic) and variance analysis

  • Data synthesis and interpretation (assessing key change drivers)

  • Data forecasting (e.g., using regressions, predictive modeling)

  • Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, report developers, and business process owners to empower data-backed decision making.


Manage Large Scale Strategic Projects from Concept to Launch

  • Lead and facilitate cross-divisional projects on key strategic issues based on senior management request

  • Create business cases, financial analyses, and ROI assessments based on understanding of SEAs capabilities, financial principles, and strategic insights

  • Develop new frameworks/best practices to strategically utilize data to drive new market assessment, demand & forecasting projects


Skills and Qualifications


  • Undergraduate in Business Administration, Economics, Finance (related to Business) required. Both a strong background in math, science, finance, engineering, or statistics and deep business insight is required, advanced degrees and/or MBA are a plus

  • 4 years experience as a strategic and problem solving thinker who can turn strategic objectives into practical (experience working in operational consulting, or internal strategy roles preferred)

  • 2+ years experience working in Business Analysis, Management Analysis or Data Analytics role

  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills and facility for establishing relationships cross-functionally and cross-divisionally

  • Strong presentation skills demonstrating the ability for effective story telling

  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of, and/or success in operations roles within a professional services firm or corporate environment, helping companies to identify, clarify and resolve complex issues critical to their strategic and operating success (certification in PMP a plus)

  • Expert in Excel and experience with developing complex macros and automation in excel

  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools like Tableau or Adobe Analytics (certification in Tableau a plus)
