Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) is seeking an exceptional candidate for an Automation engineering position supporting semiconductor factory automation. This position will provide FAB sustaining support for the Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) and will be responsible for systems monitoring and overseeing scheduled Automation Engineering work and first response to any Automation FAB issues and incidents.
Role and Responsibilities
AMHS Captain Duties
Maintain and sustain Automation facilities including rails, vehicles, stockers, monitoring and Daifuku systems in the Main FAB, Cu FAB, and LSI Photo Reticle systems.
Coordinate all activities on the floor related to AMHS including:
AMHS Installation Projects
FAB Safety Monitoring and Enforcement
Tool Load Port Alignment (LPA) testing
Vehicle Load Port Teaching
P-I/O error recovery,
Tool Preflight Testing,
E-84 cable installs,
OHT vehicle error recovery,
FOUP and Reticle Stocker Systems
Track and follow up on issues on their own shift appropriately.
Communicate with related parties as needed for issues and tasks with accuracy.
FOUP and Reticle Storage Capacity Management.
Assume ownership and leadership for their shift regarding AMHS operation on the floor and passdown information from shift to shift.
Act as backup sustainers/engineers as needed and perform coverage using their knowledge and skills as necessary.
Submit LSM Safety Points in SharePoint System (based on required Yearly amount).
FAB 6s of AMHS Work and RCS Areas.
Reticle Stocker Duties
Error Recovery, Capacity Management, Minimize Downtime.
AEM Duties FAB In/out Stockers
Error Recovery, Capacity Management, Minimize Downtime.
Work days and hours: CWW Shift A.
Skills and Qualifications
MUST have at least 1-2 years of Semiconductor FAB experience.
Strong Electrical and Mechanical Skills .
Proficient to use PC, MS Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint].
Ability to troubleshoot complex systems in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Strong communication skills with internal and external project stakeholders.
Ability to communicate technical details both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work across cross cultural settings and globally distributed projects.
Experience with an AMHS Material Control System or automated factory control software application a plus.
Strong Interpersonal & Communication Skills.
Automation and Semiconductor Fab experience preferred.
Basic understanding of hand tools, pneumatics, and electricity.
Able to wear clean room suit and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per the SAS Fab protocol.
Work in tight fitting, Fab environment.
Must be able to lift > 25 lbs.
PC, MS Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint], reporting capability.
