AVPExcess Complex Claims (Hybrid)
This position reports to the VP Excess Complex Claims. Excess Complexis part of the Chubb NA Severity Claims Team.In this role, the AVP Excess Complex will lead a Team of excess claim professionals who handle domestic excess claimsfor Chubb's Major Accounts andCommerical Excess Casualty Business Units.
Assist team members in developing and executing claim resolution strategies.
Train, develop and manage a team of handlers who are newer to the insurance industry, by developing and executing on individual professional development plans for each team member.
Recognize significant potential exposures on claims and prepare appropriate alerts to senior managers and our internal business partners.
Conduct monthly self-audits against Best Practices standards.
Provide exceptional service to our internal and external business partners.
Analyze and identify coverage issues timely coverage, and communicates coverage positions to appropriate parties.
Authorize reserve and settlement authority to team members.
Directs andmonitorcases with financial impact in team through trial/resolution.
Timely set reserves within authority or makes claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to management.

Fiveor more years experience as a claims professional with a high degree of specialized and technical competence in the handling of high exposure claims with emphasis on hands-on file and litigation management.
Automobile and General Liability (GL) experience in Products, Premises Liability, Oil/Gas and Energy, Trucking, and Advertising Injury claims.
Strong background and demonstrated ability in dealing with significant coverage matters.
An understanding of the tenants of insurance and legal principles.
Knowledge of P&C Group coverage and services.
Working knowledge of industry best practices and procedures.
An ability to work independently and assimilate learning materials on many different subjects from various sources.
Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills; and an ability to deal with customers and business partners in a professional manner.
Ability to make prompt, intelligent decisions based upon detailed analysis of complex issues.
Demonstrated strong relational skills particularly in adverse or high-pressure situations.
J.D. preferred or other professional equivalent degree preferred.
