Role



The Business Analyst III provides data and analysis services empowering decision makers through reports, dashboards and other interim solutions. This position works closely with internal customers to develop requirements to monitor and assess the business through meaningful data and analytics. The Business Analyst III also provides consultative services to recommend analysis techniques to discover trends and investigate anomalies in data.



Responsibilities



  • Analyze a variety of business requirements and provide recommendations as relates to the overall improvement and benefit of the team and management.



  • Lead efforts with managers and other team members completing project activities to review project status and implement project changes as necessary.



  • Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those that must base their work on the requirements.



  • Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely.



  • Utilize available coding and development tools to create reports, dashboards, and interim business solutions



  • Develop and deploy reporting and analysis that is accurate, complete, and properly summarized to aid in management of business and management decision making.



  • Analyzes large amounts of data and investigates and researches anomalies. Works with department and/or functional teams to correct issues when identified.



  • Design, test and deploy reports for general usage. This may or may not require involvement with the Data & Digital (D&D) Business Intelligence team.



  • Understands flow of data through internal systems in relation to departmental needs.



  • Works with D&D teams as necessary to ensure production reports are updated appropriately when impacted from system changes and enhancements or when bugs are discovered



  • Support management in decision making process by delivering a diverse range of solutions to business problems



  • Coach, mentor, and train teammates



Education/Certifications



  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Information / Computer Science, Math, Business Analytics, or related field preferred



Experience/Minimum Requirements



  • Five (5) + years of work experience in delivering BI solutions with a strong preference of experience working in the Power BI service



  • Two (2) years of project coordination / project management



  • Proven experience writing technical requirements for analysis and business process mapping



  • Experience working with Business end users



  • Ability to create/ develop reports with particular attention given to detail and accuracy



  • Has thorough knowledge of other corporate software, programs, and data tools. Assists managers with report design and development. Tests reports and ensures that they perform as expected

  • Interviewing skills, to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential requirements information



  • Keen attention to detail and ability to access impact of design or coding changes prior to implementation



  • Considerable exposure to the operation and analysis of relational database software and standards



  • Oracle SQL coding skills with particular attention given to detail and accuracy



  • Develop reports using various software and tools (ServiceNow, Power BI, Tableau, Oracle, WebFOCUS, and MS Excel)



  • The ability to be a self-starter and progress projects forward in the presence of uncertainty

Working Conditions:This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week). There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.
