Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector (NGMS) is a leading global provider of secure software-defined, hardware enabled mission systems. **Responsibilities:**

You will work on software systems for mission systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle, primarily in C/C++. Using Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices you will contribute in critical national defense products including Airborne Multifunction Sensors such as RADAR systems. Duties may include:

+ Participate in the development of innovative detection, estimation and classification algorithms and techniques for advanced applications
+ Develop signal processing algorithms, waveforms and techniques that exploit and optimize radar, radio and EW architectures that take advantage of advanced radio frequency and processing technology
+ Perform concept and performance trade studies and demonstrate developed capabilities for streaming data application
+ Develop prototype, and test sensor models and signal processing algorithms in detailed high-fidelity simulations written in C/C++, and MATLAB.
+ Operate with broad direction and minimal supervisio
+ Interact with customers and development partners

**Basic Qualifications:**

**(This position may be filled at either the Principle or Sr. Principle Engineering level)**

+ Principal Software Engineer (5+ years of software engineering experience with a bachelors degree, 3 years for MS degree, 0 years for PhD).
+ Sr. Principal Software Engineer (9+ years of software engineering experience with a bachelors degree, 7 years for MS degree, 4 years for PhD).

Basic qualifications include:

+ Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
+ Proficiency in C++ Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance
+ A minimum of 2 years experience with digital signal processing, probability theory, stochastic signal processing, AI and/or machine learning
+ Knowledge and experience working with programming languages such as MatLab, Python, SimuLink
+ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
+ Be collaborative, open, transparent, and team oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning and a culture of automation.
+ Candidates must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S Secret clearance prior to starting employment and the ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP)

**Preferred Qualifications (not required):**

+ Active secret clearance (or higher)
+ Experience in algorithmic application development and optimization
+ Electronic Warfare systems, radar, waveforms, radar signal processing.
+ Communication Simulators, Communications Jamming.
+ Knowledge of Kalman filtering, CNN, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Adaptive Neural Networks, Belief Propagation, other machine learning algorithms
+ Experience in real-time embedded software development knowledge of Radar, Electronic Warfare, or Space technologies
+ Experience with VxWorks and/or Linux Operating Systems
+ Experience with Visual Studio
+ Experience with Coverity and/or KlocWork tools
+ Experience in Open Architecture Solutions
+ Experience with the Atlassian tool set, kubernetes, Model Based Engineering, and DevSecOps best practices
+ Excellent integration and troubleshooting skills
+ Technical leadership experience

Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00Salary Range 2: $125,800.00 - $188,600.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
