This position supports Honeywell€™s Apollo Plant at our flagship facility in Geismar, LA €“ located near Baton Rouge. Apollo was built new in 2017 and produces the environmentally friendly Solstice 1234yf automotive refrigerant. Our business is experiencing tremendous growth as the world transitions to more sustainable products.

Key Responsibilities
€¢\tResponsible for effective operation and continuous improvement for a portion of the Apollo Plant which includes a 3-step chemical process, Environmental unit, and Tank Farm.
€¢\tParticipate in site HSE and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, including Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, Root Cause Analysis/Incident Investigations, and development of Standard Operating Procedures.
€¢\tIdentify and monitor Key Process Indicators to sustain optimal plant operations which meet production, yield, and cost targets.
€¢\tDevelop and execute productivity projects to improve baseline safety, quality, production, and cost performance.
€¢\tDevelop capital project scopes of work and associated process packages to improve or maintain unit operations.
€¢\tBridge multiple layers of organization between management and front-line workers to deliver plant safety and production objectives.
€¢\tMentor and train Operations staff on unit design and intended/optimal operation. Assist Operations department in troubleshooting plant operational issues.
YOU MUST HAVE
€¢\tBachelor€™s Degree in engineering discipline.
€¢\t2+ years experience in chemical industry: manufacturing, operations, or engineering roles.

WE VALUE
€¢\tDegree in Chemical Engineering. Related experience in a production or process engineering role.
€¢\tFamiliarity in various types of unit operations including reactions, distillation, absorption, heat exchange, fluid flow, and hand handling of hazardous materials.
€¢\tCertification in Six Sigma or Lean Methodologies.
€¢\tStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with typical chemical process equipment (Pumps, distillation columns, instrumentation, utilities, etc.)
€¢\tFamiliarity with HS&E regulations and life critical safety tools such as Lock-out/Tag-out, Line Break, and Hot Work permits and procedures.
