The Community Development strategy at the New York Fed is to elevate groundbreaking ideas or approaches to target the drivers of, or barriers to, economic mobility for low- and moderate-income people, especially those facing poverty and/ or structural disparities related to race or ethnicity and to educate, influence, and catalyze capital providers to invest in creating more opportunities for those groups.
Your role as Community Development Associate:
Contribute to thought leadership and support strategies and analysis in the field of community development/anti-poverty policy and practice.
Manage portfolio of community development projects focused on health equity and climate adaptation.
Help develop relationships with collaborators to enhance cooperation (e.g. regulated banks, researchers, finance experts, nonprofits, government agencies, community development entities, health care practitioners, foundations, and international organizations) using tools like CRM.
Work with cross-sector partnersinside and outside the bankto host high profile conferences and meetings.
Develop and execute events and high-level meetings.
Contribute to analysis and writing including blogs, infographics, and short articles.
Help develop upstream solutions to address the social determinants of health.
Develop guidance on outreach and/or research priorities and provide feedback and intelligence to the bank president and other senior staff.
Help develop upstream solutions to address the social determinants of health.
Communicate with this audience and stakeholders through social media, traditional media, and our website.
Utilize data and data visualization to understand economic conditions in low.
What we are looking for:
Experience and working knowledge in urban planning, public health, public administration, public policy, education, business, economics, or related field
Strong experience in roles that demonstrates an interest in and commitment to the community development field and the problems facing low-income communities and communities of color
Experience collaborating with and facilitating cooperation among a wide range of partners and influencing/educating on community development topics
Project management capabilities
Background applying economic theory and statistical techniques to analyze community development issues helpful
Ability to use data for creating narratives, presentations, and storytelling
Committed to an environment of innovation, ambiguity, and challenging assumptions
Ability to work in an office environment after the work from home mandate is lifted and travel up to 20% when it becomes safe to do so
