The opportunity

The Compliance Manager for US Insurance is accountable for the effective operation of the regulatory compliance program for selected US Insurance business lines including Long-Term Care ("LTC"), Life and Annuities. The Compliance Manager is responsible for keeping up with regulatory requirements and changes as they relate to insurance and for managing the business' adherence to regulations and requirements.

Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

• Act as the primary compliance support for the LTC and Life Insurance business lines,

• Provide day to day compliance support and participate in short/long term initiatives with the business,

• Take a lead role in the operation of the compliance program, as well as in developing policies and procedures to ensure that the business meets applicable regulatory requirements,

• Work with stakeholders to ensure state and regulatory filings are submitted in a timely manner.

Privacy Coordinator

• Develop, implement, maintain and monitor an effective privacy program for the LTC/Life business unit,

• Continuously identify, evaluate and mitigate reasonably foreseeable risks to customer and employee information, and coordinate with the Privacy Office and/or appropriate business unit personnel as needed to address these risks,

• Evaluate and assess potential privacy risks inherent in any new business unit initiatives,

• Assist in the evaluation of new vendor/service third party provider relationships to identify and address privacy-related risks.

What we are looking for

• Certified Information Privacy Professional/US ("CIPP/US") training is considered an asset but not mandatory,

• Law degree or auditing background would be considered an asset, but not mandatory,

• Relevant compliance experience working in insurance/financial services is preferred,

• Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions,

• Strong written and verbal communication skills,

• Understanding of regulatory and industry best practices relevant to the business,

• Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships.
