Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Digital Engineer to support the SNAP Department (Strategic Networks, Applications, and Products). Our team focuses on Network Solutions, and supports a variety of technologies across our three departments; C3 Solutions, Strategic Networks, and Small Form Factors. C3 Solutions, specializes in Tactical Data Link processors, emulators, and simulators. Our Strategic Networks team builds solutions to defending our country's nuclear assets. And lastly, our Small Form Factors Department brings SWaP optimized solutions (Crypto, SDRs, Space Networks) to new domains, bridging us into Space, Weapons, and more. This position will be located in the beautiful city of San Diego, CA, at one of our two locations; Rancho Carmel, or Kearny Mesa.

We are looking for you to join one of our Small Form Factors teams as Embedded Software Developer. These teams specialize in crypto solutions, software defined radios, and space networking components.

We seek degreed electrical or computer engineering engineers with hands-on experience in FPGA Design and Verification with VHDL. You will be responsible for digital designs associated with multi-function software-defined radios. Systems include state-of-art radios and test equipment for military applications. Selected candidate must have proven ability to perform prototype design, build and production test. Additionally must have ability to interpret requirements and ICDs and turn them into functional firmware. The selected individual should have experience with collaborating with other engineers and cross-functional teams.

This position may be filled as a Digital Engineer or Principal Digital Engineer.

**Basic Qualifications Digital Engineer:**

+ Bachelors Degree in STEM from an accredited institution and 2 years of experience in an Engineering Environment; OR, a minimum of 0 years of experience with a STEM Master's Degree
+ Experience with VHDL design or verification
+ Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Tools: Xilinx ISE/ Vivado, Altera Quartus, ModelSim/QuestaSim.
+ Experience with board or system level debug as well as reading and interpreting electrical schematics
+ **CLEARANCE:** Candidate must currently have an Interim or Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance prior to start date.

**Basic Qualifications Principal Digital Engineer:**

+ Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution with a minimum of 5 years of experience; OR 3 years of experience with a Masters (MS) degree; OR 0 years of experience with a PhD
+ Experience with VHDL design or verification
+ Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Tools: Xilinx ISE/ Vivado, Altera Quartus, ModelSim/QuestaSim.
+ Experience with board or system level debug as well as reading and interpreting electrical schematics
+ **CLEARANCE:** Candidate must currently have an Interim or Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance prior to start date.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's or Master's Degree Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Engineering (BSCE)
+ Experience with very high speed interfaces and advanced manufacturing
+ Experience with developing FPGA requirements and be able to show traceability to requirements and technical references.
+ Familiar with multilayer board design, signal integrity, and RF communication systems
+ Experience with scripting languages in support of development environment configuration and execution.

MSSDEN

Salary Range: $90,600.00 - $136,000.00Salary Range 2: $111,600.00 - $167,400.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
