Prudential Information Security is a diverse group working on multiple areas in the world of cloud computing, software engineering, and general layered in an enterprise. The Director, Cloud Security Strategy works with Global Technology architecture to operationalizes the overall security strategy for the enterprise, in line with overall IT strategy. The Director, Cloud Security Strategy understands the strategy and ensures that the execution within Info Sec and Global Technology rolls out properly. The Director, Cloud Security Strategyis expected to think like an adversary and identify how solutions should evolve as the threat landscape changes. The Director, Cloud Security Strategy guides less experienced coworkers, while receiving minimal daily guidance from leadership. Frequently interacts with the Deputy CISO, members of IT Risk, Business Unit CIO designates, Business Unit Developers, CTO Product Owners, Engineers, and other Strategists.
The projects range from across a wide variety of cloud infrastructure, including software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS) to maintain strong oversight with cloud computing vendors and solution providers to safeguard against undue risk presented by configurations and external entities.
Responsibilities:
Take ideas and concepts, and visualize them in ways such that they are communicated effectively and compellingly for internal leaders, partners and customers
Understanding of ways to lead a team developing in an Agile environment
Design cloud strategy solutions and supported governance processes
Define policies and procedures
Review and certification
Create technical strategic models with latest technical trends
Evaluate and report technical cloud application services architecture as per business requirements
Conduct research to develop practices and security policies for cloud services
Provide technical leadership to a dynamic team throughout the software development life cycle
Collaborate with architects, other teams, product owners, and software engineers to drive implementation of new applications
Conduct design and code review to ensure compliance with standards
Estimate level of effort to develop code to meet acceptance criteria
Ensure adherence to continuous improvement practices as required to meet quality / time to market imperatives
Maintain records to document program development and revisions

Cloud Specific Skills:
Hands on AWS, Azure or GCP experience including light coding and scripting capabilities particularly with Python, CloudFormation, Terraform and ARM Templates
Solid understanding of multiple IaaS cloud services and solutions, including but not limited to: AWS IAM, Google Cloud Identity, Microsoft Azure Policy, AWS KMS, Azure Key Vault, functions, microservices, and other managed services
Strong understanding of network and identity access security models, including authentication and cryptography
Strong understanding of and experience with evaluating controls and adopting cloud services; working with frameworks such as Cloud Custodian, Config, and Access Analyzer
Strong understanding and experience with IaC and CI/CD pipeline mechanisms
Familiarity with regulatory and industry standards; GDPR, PCI, NIST, CIS/SANS 20, ISO 27xxx, FedRamp, etc.
Resource Environments: APIs (REST/SOAP/JMS), Database, File
General Technology Skills:
Solid understanding of cryptography in general, especially as it related to authentication and non-repudiation, inclusive of PKI/asymmetric and symmetric models
Basic knowledge of virtualization software, web technology, and cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript) and / or web development experience (HTML5) highly preferred
Solid understanding of TCP/IP and networking
Security Event and Information Management
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
At least 2 years of experience leading software engineering teams
At least 5 years of experience in developing applications, architectural standards, and using cloud services and technologies
At least 2 years of experience in software development and Agile practices
Current CCSP, Security Practitioner or advanced certifications and hands on software development experience a plus
