Position Summary:

The Director of Development Services is a both a leadership role and team management role that engages directly with Enterprise customers with respect to enterprise mobile applications connecting securely with backend systems and/or running within an Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) container. The candidate will be familiar with the practice of analyzing and implementing best practice development for new applications to be integrated into the customer mobile strategy and how to most effectively develop new applications for cross platform deployment. The candidate must also be experienced in developing requirements, wireframe mockups and User Interfaces for purpose-based projects.

The candidate will have experience coaching others in developing these skills and structuring a team effective in using these skills to partner with the B2B Sales Team, driving significant increase in Mobile B2B device adoption and revenue. The candidate must have good organizational skills and strategic awareness. This will require not only skills around mobile technology, but understanding the full enterprise landscape middleware, data access and secure connectivity through VPN or other products designed for mobile. The candidate must have experience and understanding of the technologies and requirements associated with enterprise development and deployment of mobile applications running behind the firewall. The candidate must be able to develop and guide the team members in the skills of partnering with customers through the path of how to develop for the enterprise and leverage best practices for mobile development. Aside from having strong development acumen it is critical that the candidate have strong communication skills and able to present in front of large audience, at executive level both internally and externally.
Proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade mobile solutions from idea to design to build to deployment.


Role and Responsibilities


Development Services provides a value added service, assisting Enterprise customers and partners evolve their mobile strategy to embrace a wide scale of applications on the Samsung platform.


Specifically, the Director, Development Services will focus on the following tasks:

Lead a team focused on successfully executing and delivering strategic development services and solutions defined and offered by Samsung in response to Enterprise customer or partner needs, including but not limited to.

  • Custom Mobile Applications Development

  • Application Migration Services

  • Code Review

  • Mobile Application Management

  • Mobile and Enterprise Security

  • Lifecycle Management

  • Mobility Analytics

  • Enterprise Consulting and Systems integration

  • Participation and Presenting at Developer Engagement Events

  • Partner with strategic development partners (such as SDSA, Harmon, IBM, etc) to design, develop, and deploy enterprise mobile application solutions using user-centric design methodology for Samsung tablets and smartphones.

  • Coach the team in defining and documenting the design of functionality through use cases, business process flows, UX design, and Adobe XD modeling as necessary.

  • Respond to concerns from executives and key decision makers. Provide technical support and subject matter expertise to internal and external business partners.


Additional Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • The Director of Development Services, having a role leading a team directly engaged with the end customer, will lead a team that will be essential to constantly provide customer feedback around services and products offered.

  • Supporting public marketing events, including but not limited to booth presence, presentations, webinars and documentation for best practices.


Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years of mobility technologies related experience is required

  • Experience leading the architecting, design and delivery of enterprise-grade solutions

  • Experience building relationships with strategic partners in developing their services for the Samsung platform with the goal of increasing Samsung hardware sales and revenue

  • Strategic development partners management

  • Experience working on Projects with SDSA, Harmon and IBM or similar

  • Familiarty with key mobile development tools including Android Java, Kotlin, Swift and new emerging development languages

  • Familiar with Enterprise Software and solutions (ERP, CRM, Database, and others)

  • Must be well versed in the agile and waterfall development methodologies

  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies, standards, and best practices for mobile development structured development practices that utilize source control

  • Experience with process and procedures typical in Enterprise customer environments

  • Strong understanding of mobile platforms, device manufacturers, and device management

  • Thorough knowledge and experience in different mobile development platforms including Samsung Android and iOS

  • Strong track record of building collaborative relationships with internal peer groups and external customers and partners

  • Proven ability to successfully deliver services in support of government and enterprise customers

  • Ability to identify service and support risks and associated solutions within wireless product technologies

  • Must be able to write, read, analyze, interpret, present, and explain wireless product and development materials

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Standard Office Suite and extensive use of Windows presentation software in a wireless network environment

  • Must have experience leading development of sound mobile sample solutions for the enterprise

  • Must have experience leading development of creating enterprise proof of concept and mobile application prototypes

  • Must have demonstrated project and program management skills

  • Review detailed product development, marketing documents and media materials as needed.

  • Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external personnel at various levels.

  • Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve customer business objectives, personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames and specifications.

  • The ability to develop tasks and work assignments, based on sometime vaguely defined objectives.


Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions:

  • The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

  • Work is generally performed in an office environment.

  • Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time.

  • The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time under 25 pounds.

  • Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and business management stress.

  • Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with PCs, printers, and office work areas.

  • Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule.

  • Under very little direct supervision with a high level of responsibility to apply general policies and guidelines where decisions are seldom monitored and consequences of decisions adversely affect operating results and management decisions. Complete access to confidential company data where disclosure may jeopardize the companys competitive position.
