GA-EMS' expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer (EE) to join our Electrical Technologies Space Electrical team located in Centennial, Colorado. We are looking for someone with drive, talent, and experience in Satellite Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) who also thrives in a fast-paced, product development environment. The successful candidate will report to the Space Electrical Design Team Manager and, alongside high-caliber staff, will be engaged in the engineering support and new development of satellite and space systems, advanced sensors, High Energy Lasers, photonics devices, motors and drives, defense products, and a variety of other technologies in the expanding product portfolio of GA-EMS.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with GA-EMS Engineering staff and chief engineers in the concept development and production design, integration, and test of satellite electrical ground support equipment.

  • Designs and implements EGSE for use in component and space vehicle test activities.

  • Support integration of hardware in the loop and spacecraft simulators.

  • Utilize knowledge of design with standard lab equipment to troubleshoot issues that occur during test to ensure quality final product.

  • Ensures configuration of EGSE is documented and maintained.

  • Supports conduct of subsystem and program design reviews.

  • Under general supervision, initiate and develop designs, techniques, and solutions to resolve advanced technical engineering problems.

  • Demonstrate prior experience in the improvement of legacy systems and development of new systems.

  • Generate EGSE solutions for new project needs, perform engineering analyses for systems and circuits, document findings, communicate results to engineering staff, and give technical presentations.

  • Direct the activities of designers, technicians and may direct the activities of less experienced professional staff

  • Communicate with colleagues and management throughout solution development and deployment cycles.

  • May represent the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four (4) or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, two (2) or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

  • Required Experience: Electrical Design and Implementation; analysis, design, and implementation of hardware systems to include digital, analog, and RF is desired; guiding a design through development and into production.

  • Desired Skills (ranked high to low): Experience with test equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, loads, network analyzers), Altium PCB Design Software, Atlassian Project Management and Collaboration Tools, Microsoft Project.

  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving project environment.

  • Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment.

  • Provides documentation and makes technical presentations as required; experience with government/defense acquisition technical reviews, including SRR, PDR, and CDR is a plus.

  • Some travel and extended work schedules may be required.
