KPMG is currently seeking an Engineering Director to join our Advisory Services (https://advisory.kpmg.us/) practice.


Responsibilities:


+ Partner and collaborate with business and technology teams, acting as a thought leader and strategist for new technology, technology roadmaps and next generation technology direction

+ Provide coaching, guidance and direction to software engineers, technical leads that execute technical design and implementation for multiple teams and projects

+ Evaluate business requirements in the early stages of projects to determine what software, integration technologies, system architectures and patterns should be employed to meet business objectives efficiently

+ Provide technical design and implementation leadership, including driving quality across the full SDLC working with Solution Architects, BAs, Development and Test teams

+ Design solutions that reduce costs, increase efficiencies, provide more value and capabilities, reduce risks and increase security; develop project estimates to design, build, deliver and run business solutions

+ Collaborate with solution architects in efforts on technology research, evaluations and proof of concepts (POC); communicate best practices by giving presentations, working with project teams and authoring content aimed at educating others about standards, strategies and otherwise defined best engineering practices


Qualifications:


+ Minimum fifteen years of experience in technology, general software development methodologies and practices, implementing applications in distributed processing environments, including relevant architecture experience

+ Minimum five years of experience in application and system implementations with hands-on development using Java or C# or Javascript, meeting client requirements and re-engineering systems

+ Bachelors degree in Computer Science from an accredited university or college; or equivalent experience

+ Experienced in leading other technical leads and team members to a desired solution-requirements review, code reviews, support and coaching; experience with Event jobs, Threads, Parallel Processing, REST API, Workflows, Complex algorithms, DevOps/CICD - packaging and migration of configuration

+ Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations and communicating technology strategy and direction for all levels of management, end users and technical staff; ability to translate business needs into engineered solutions using cloud technologies, including conducting POCs to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies

+ Strong understanding of cloud computing architecture, technical design and implementations, including Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as Service (SaaS) delivery models in Microsoft Azure\AWS; capable of building strong professional relationships with ability to influence all levels across the organization

+ Ability to travel as necessary
