ESG Portfolio Manager Tax Equity and Debt

**Job Description:**
Embedded across the banks eight lines of business, the formation of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Credit group reflects how the bank helps fuel the global economy, build trust and credibility, and represent a company that people want to work for, invest in, and do business with. The ESG Credit team will support the continued growth in sustainable, renewable, and green finance and further deliver on the banks commitment to help society transition to a low-carbon economy.
The Portfolio Manager effectively executes broad credit risk management responsibilities within Enterprise Credit/Specialty Finance. Responsibilities include:
- Primary account responsibility for portfolio management of tax equity investment and debt transactions originated by the Renewable Energy Finance and Global Sustainable Finance Groups (GSFG) in the solar, wind, electric vehicle, storage and other renewable sectors.
- Understand complex transactions and review and negotiate documentation to mitigate risk appropriately
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the industry
- Review stress scenarios, financial models, and engineer reports.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with Global Markets, Risk, Finance, Legal, Tax, Accounting and Regulatory groups
- Independently develop high quality credit analysis with a focus on business rationale, key risks, sources of repayment, projections, and returns/profitability
- Independently assess, diligence, and make justifiable credit recommendations
- Informal management responsibility for Analysts and Associates on the team
Required Skills:
- 5+ years experience in portfolio management, credit and/or risk analysis of project finance and tax equity transactions
- Must have ability to manage complex transactions, possess strong credit skills and transaction experience, and demonstrate the ability to work with senior officers, business partners, and clients
- Must be able to independently lead diligence efforts, make approval recommendations
- Requires effective communication style and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Must be a team player
- Results oriented; is able to meet deadlines
- Organized and diligent
-BA/BSc degree required; Finance, Accounting or Engineering focus preferred
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of renewable energy technology including wind, solar and fuel cells
