The Field Clinical Manager will be a player coach to the FCL team in the region. The Field Clinical Manager will be responsible for complicated case coverage, proctoring, and product training in their specific geography. develop and implement strategies to meet the needs of the Region, while maintaining focus on synergy with Sales leadership. This includes account targeting and business goals, strategic collaboration with other Sales support teams, assimilation of best practices, developing national goals, strategies, and execution excellence within the FCL team, including involvement in training opportunities and customer engagement. This role will also serve as the liaison to the various Business Unit functions listed as but not limited to: Physician Relation, Medical Education, US/Global Field Training, Clinical Research, Research and Development, Regulatory and Legal.


In addition, the Field Clinical Manager will be responsible for the overall hiring and on-boarding of Field Clinical Leads, mentoring, team development, and implementing retention strategies.


**A DAY IN THE LIFE - POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:**


**FCL Manager**


+ In collaboration with Area Director, develops and implements a business strategy for the how the FCL team drives business strategies within the region.

+ In collaboration with the Area Director, ensures all training, medical education, and marketing programs are communicated, coordinated, and implemented in the Region.

+ Hires, develops, trains, and retains FCLs within a specified region.

+ Manages, coaches, develops, retains, and evaluates performance for regional FCLs.

+ In collaboration with the Area Director, ensures all training, medical education, and marketing programs are communicated, coordinated, and implemented in the Region.

+ Effectively monitors and controls expenses for area FCLs.

+ Ensures that the companys ethical position is maintained within area FCL team; effectively communicate and manage company business conduct policies

+ Plans, directs, and oversees all clinical training activities for specified region.

+ Develops and maintains a high level of product knowledge and relevant medical information for self, direct and indirect reports

+ Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of the client base and regional clinical strategies to ensure FCLs impact target accounts and physicians.

+ Attends clinical meetings, seminars, conferences, etc., as appropriate

+ Collaborate with other Field Clinical Managers to maintain consistency with Senior Leaderships National Strategies.

+ Collaboration with Business Unit:

+ Participate on core teams for product launches, procedural changes, and clinical updates

+ Work with upstream marketing to provide feedback or coordinate FCLs to provide feedback as subject matter experts

+ Liaison with Marketing for Regional needs

+ Assist Medical Education team in coordinating Product and Procedure Trainings occurring for Physicians in the region

+ Attend regional Medical Education programs and participate as clinical and procedural expert as faculty

+ Work with Clinical Study teams:

+ Participate in committees to ensure clinical and procedural excellence in the studies

+ Act as Liaison between Clinical Study team and the field

+ Work with Field Training Department to coordinate:

+ FCL faculty for Oral Boards

+ FCL assistance with New Hire Training Programs

+ FCL led complication mitigation workshops

+ Feedback to the Field Leadership and Training Department on performance/needs of New Hire Training pathway

+ Spokesperson related to procedural expertise and best practices within region

+ Develops therapy and device operational knowledge and applies this knowledge to processes and initiatives in support of procedural excellence


**FCL Player Coach**


+ **Physician and Field Training / Education**

+ Physician

+ Assist the Medical Education team by coordinating FCL Led Physician Training occurring in the Area

+ Assist withlocalphysician training within the area when a proctor or FCL is not available

+ Formally present product and implant best practices to the physicians during local training

+ Serve as a proctor, particularly when a physician proctor or FCL is not available.

+ Work with DMs and AD to identify strategic Proctors and KOLs for FCL manager to engage

+ Work with DMs and AD to identify and facilitate Customer Education initiatives across the area

+ Field

+ Spokesperson related to procedural expertise and updated best practices within the Area

+ Leads the FCLs in applying their knowledge of the therapy and device operation to processes and initiatives in support of procedural excellence across the area

+ Coordinate and facilitate simulation activities in the Area

+ Collaborates with the Global Field Education and facilitate FCL roll out of new product training initiatives; new products indications, troubleshooting/tips and tricks, safety updates - Train the Trainer

+ New Employee training

+ Oversee New Employee Field Training and Certification Preparation in the Area

+ Arrange and facilitate group case observations

+ Arrange and facilitate group case reviews and mock exams

+ Coordinate with FCLs and DMs for Resident and Fellow Training

+ Take a leadership role in ensuring that outgoing fellows are familiar, facile, and comfortable in using Medtronics TAVR technology

+ Identify and target each Structural Heart teaching institution

+ Work with local FCL to set up various fellows training opportunities

+ Interact with the Program Directors and Chief Resident to create a customized training program

+ Share best practices and experiences with the FCL team

+ Identify andtransition final year fellows to the new local Medtronic team

+ Coordinate with FCLs and DMs for Sales and Clinical support

+ Work with AD to identify and execute TC and TDS development activities across the Area

+ Support local sales management in presenting the technology to potential new to TAVR sites

+ Conduct case support for difficult or unusual cases when FCL is unavailable

+ Overread, size, interpret and advise on difficult imagining studies when FCL is unavailable

+ Clinical Research

+ Primary point of contact for in-house clinical team as it relates to clinical trial activities within region

+ Track and provide data collecting support for ongoing clinical studies as requested by Clinical Research

+ Develops and maintains clinical acumen to understand and translate procedure requirements in compliance with clinical protocols

+ Provides guidance to area field team regarding device ordering, storage, and accountability for clinical trial sites within region

+ Acts as a liaison with in-house clinical team when resolving procedure/device related PXM events and/or device management questions

+ Facilitates and/or redirects clinical trial questions to in-house team


**REQUIRED TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:**


_IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME_


+ Bachelors degree

+ 5 years experience in a clinical setting supporting structural heart procedures

+ Clinically certified in TAVR therapies


**DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (optional):**


+ DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (optional):

+ 1+ year experience as an FCL

+ Cardiac Operating Theatre and/or Cath Lab experience

+ Previous training experience Primary Case Support for 350 cases; or ability to serve in Adv Tech Role by passing Global Field Training Curriculum

+ The successful candidate will preferably have experience in marketing new technologies and therapies

+ Strong knowledge of congenital heart disease management

+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills

+ Understanding of medical device sales process

+ Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision; whilst at the same time playing an active team role when appropriate

+ Ability to work effectively within a matrix organization
